Rodeo Night One May 9th

Rodeo was rather cool and damp this year. Once again, I decided not to mess with horses. Too much trouble for the amount of time they are ridden and as you will see in a bit the arena was a mud pit!

Korin waiting for the grand entry. See the mud hole?

I thought the clouds were interesting.

And then there was a little color.

This is Shane Hadley. He was a contestant in steer wrestling last year. The steer cut in front of his horse causing the horse to flip over and landing on Shane. He was taken by helicopter to a trauma hospital in Fort Worth (about 45 miles away). It is a miracle that he survived. He still has a ways to go but he is a walking miracle. Doyle and I have been following his mother's posts on Facebook on his progress and we attended a benefit for him in Stephenville (42 miles South). We were so excited to learn that he was in the audience. We along with many others have prayed for this young man and continue to prayer for his complete recovery.

This little girl is a friend of Kennedy's. Her name is Campbell. She along with her mom and brother were in box seats where the accident happened. Campbell has faithfully prayed for him. I kept her mom updated on his progress. She was so excited to get to meet him in person.

It was a great first night of rodeo. The highlight for us was seeing Shane!

Have a good one!
