Dance Recital 05-21-2022

Kennedy has been in dance for 9 years. This was her 9th dance recital!

She was in three dances this year.

Please forgive the background clutter. We were limited on time and places for Mom to sit. I figured better to have a picture with a crummy background than not at all! Dance Recital wasn't over until 12:15pm and Kennedy had a softball game at 1pm!

Missing Keannon. He is insurance adjusting again and is currently in Iowa.

Vanessa's youngest brother Jacob and his fiance Alyssa.

All who came to watch Kennedy dance.

L to R Vanessa, Joe Don, Jacob, Korin in front of him, Kennedy, Alyssa, Kashton, Janice (Vanessa's step-mom), Mom and me.

My Lil' Peanut.

Not so little anymore....taller than me now!

Have a good one!

Kennedy Plays Softball

Kennedy is playing softball. This was April 30th.  She's in Left field.

This was a game Monday May 2nd. She looks more ready to play here!

The game on Monday I was late to. Kennedy was 3rd base when I arrived and I took a short video of her scoring a run.

Click here for a short clip of Kennedy batting. Unfortunately she got out.

Have a good one!

First Time to Kayak 04-28-2022

I did a first on Thursday April 28th. Good friends of mine (Brandon and Rose Jordan) are "Park Hosts"at our State Park. Park hosts are volunteers who supplement park staff and serve as representatives of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Hosts assist visitors and support the operational needs of the park.

Rose and Brandon have lived at the park for almost a year now. She told me not long after they were settled that I needed to come kayak with them. I said "sure, one of these days."

Well the other day Rose posted a picture of a view from her kayak on Facebook and I commented I need to come do that to which she responded "how about Thursday at 5:15pm?" Nothing like getting held accountable! I said okay!

I have never kayaked! Rose said they had the kayaks, life jackets and would show me how. All I had to do
was show up. I wasn't the only one who responded to her post that day. Two other women I'm friends with also came out ... none of us knew how to kayak! This should be interesting!

This is before we get started. The woman in purple is Rose, Megan is next to her and the youngest is Brittney and yes she is pregnant (due in July).

All looks quiet in this picture (no wind) however once we get out in the middle of the lake it was a very different story!

Once out from the shore line the wind picked up and there were actually white caps on the water! Not the best conditions for beginners! You can tell from my hair how hard the wind was blowing!

Rose and Brittney. We are on the opposite side of the lake here.

I found a little shelter from the wind along the shore where there are huge rocks.

This is Megan. She is the worship leader at our church and teaches music at the Christian school.

This is Brittney. Non of us tipped over! We all made it across the lake and back successfully! We had so much fun that we all agreed we want to do it again....just not when its windy!

Have a good one!

Took Grands to the State Park 04-26-2022

Kennedy spent the night on Monday April 25th. She went to work with me and did her school work will I did church business. After lunch I took her home to change clothes and picked up Kashton to go with us.

Kashton wanted me to take a picture right away before we walked down the rock staircase.

Can you feel the love?! 😉

I had Kashton pose for me.

This pose was a little more genuine.

From this point forward, Kennedy took pictures. She did really good! Kashton wanted one of him jumping off the rock.

I thought this was a very pretty shot that Kennedy took. It's hard to see at this size but if you click on it to enlarge you should be able to see the sparkling

 water.

Kashton discovered a hole in the rock big enough for him to lay in.

It wasn't long after this that we saw a snake. It wasn't big and I don't think it was poisonous but it sure freaked out Kashton!

We had a great time!

Have a good one!
