Still Making Cards for Family and Friends

In case you were wondering if I was too busy making cards to sell. The answer is no. At least not yet 😊. I am however keeping steady.

Here are the cards I made for the month of October for family and friends. I love this vintage gal and have used her numerous times...as you will see in a minute 😉

I made this for dear friends of mine celebrating their 40th anniversary. I don't know why but I had already chosen the colors when I found out that maroon was the color for a 40th wedding anniversary! I thought that was pretty cool. We held a surprise celebration (at least to the wife it was a surprise) at the church after services October 7th. It was a great time!

I have made so many cards now that it is getting hard to remember who I have given what card to! I think I made this one for my brother's girlfriend.

This was made for a young man at my church who is a bowler and very good! I didn't have any bowling stamps so I improvised, finding a picture on the internet that would work and stamped the sentiment. The inside reads "Hope it's a strike!"

This is for another person at my church. I got a little behind on cards during this time and this one ended up being late.

I made this one for my Dad's birthday.

I'm kind of proud of this one. I created the background using water colors. This card was made for a man at my church.

These next two cards I made for my sister-in-law and my step mom. I made them about the same time and I don't remember which card went to which person 😲

Kennedy was over not long ago and said that she had taken one of the cards I made her for her birthday for show and tell at school. One of her classmates asked her if I would make her birthday card. Kennedy told me she liked elephants so I created this for Kennedy to give to her.

In case you are wondering...Light in My Pathway is doing well. I have a separate blog for it and you can find it here if you would like to keep up! You can also access that blog through the website. Be sure to bookmark it for easy reference.

Have a good one!

Nice Fall Day 11-01-2018

I never get tired of this view. I'm sure I've posted pictures of this more than once in my blog but I just can't help it. I love how the sun comes through the trees during the morning hours. I find it beautiful, peaceful.

I thought these flowers were so pretty with the morning sun.

While I was waiting on Clyde to eat his "mid day meal" I took the time to just look around and take pictures of what ever caught my eye.

The first was this butterfly against the brilliant yellow flowers.

I don't know what type of plant this is. It's like a vine. What intrigues me about it is the leaves are heart-shaped.

I noticed some other interesting insects enjoying the yellow flowers besides me.

There were more butterflies and other types of flying insects.

Pet Chicken?

The neighbor's chicken has seemingly become my friend! Their little girl has named her Girly".

My grandmother had chickens when I was really young but I don't remember her having them long so I do not remember chickens behavior.

The hen is very docile. She will let you pet her and she follows me around like a dog!

When I arrive at the horses if she's not already at the barn she comes running and follows me to the barn.

Here she is as I'm giving Clyde his feed.

She is walking with me to the other barn where I keep hay and put out cat food.

My barn cat Lovey hasn't been coming to the barn lately as she pulled a "bad mom" stunt. We had a rainy cold snap a couple of weeks ago. Lovey had just moved the kittens from the barn to some bushes by the neighbors house. My neighbor went to check on the kittens and found them soaking wet and shivering from the cold but no Lovey.  She took the babies in her house, dried them off then went looking for Lovey. She found her in the barn! She picked her up and made her stay with the babies. I got to see them the other day when I had Kennedy with me. Kennedy wanted to see them so we asked my neighbor who graciously obliged.

Back to Girly.... I found her several times eating cat food. Lovey wouldn't stay when she did so I started giving Girly her own to eat. I've continued to do that. I also leave out the cat food bowl for the big black cat that I believe is the daddy to the kittens although I've not seen him lately.

Girly is still laying eggs in the barn in a feeder that is not being used right now. Usually one to two eggs everyday. I take them to the neighbors since she is their chicken.

The other day I picked up Korin from school. I've started feeding Clyde an additional feeding to help keep wait on him as we go through the winter months. Korin and I found Girly doing the strangest thing (at least to us). You can hear Korin and I talking in the background.

I must say I have enjoyed this fowl's company. She definitely makes me smile and occasionally laugh.

Have a good one!

Pumpkin Patch 10-29-218

The kids invited me to come along on the school's field trip to a Pumpkin Patch just outside of Stephenville about 45 miles South of us.

The trip was originally planned two weeks earlier but due to heavy rains it was rescheduled.

Going on a hayride.

Grades Pre-K through 2nd grade. Third grade was in another group which is the group Kennedy was in. Click on the picture to see it larger. Korin is on the first row 2nd from the left. Kashton is sitting next to the girl with a cowboy hat.

Korin is 3rd from the left. Kashton is nearly right under the "C" of Chick next to a boy with sunglasses.

I was a little disappointed I didn't get a picture of the kids together this year. Oh well. Sometimes it just happens.
