An Evening with the Legendary Doyle Dykes 3-2-2022

My guitar teacher invited his students to hear Doyle Dykes play at North Main Church of God in the
neighboring town of Weatherford.

This is the man who my Doyle had present me the Taylor guitar he bought me in 2006. Doyle Dykes was performing in a music store for a group of about 200 people. I had not seen him play live since that time. I jumped at the opportunity. My Doyle didn't go with me as I had to miss our church service to go.

Believe me, I still went to church! It was a wonderful time. If you are interested, the event was live streamed through Facebook so you can watch if you have a Facebook account. Click here. He is a phenomenal guitar player.

I did not take this picture. It was on the church Facebook page.

I did take this one and it's not zoomed! I was sitting on the front row! Here he is playing a 12 string.

Me and Doyle Dykes

Here is the picture taken with him in 2006 with my guitar.

I've aged a little 😉, put on a few pounds and lost the color in my hair. Doyle Dykes doesn't look like he aged at all (he's 67 BTW).

I am so glad I went.

I had Doyle Dykes autograph the headstock of my guitar in 2006! Isn't that cool?!

I had a great time.

Have a good one!

Kennedy Overhead Serve 2-25-2022

Kennedy's first game of the Spring Volleyball season and first game to serve overhead.

She is doing really well.

She is playing with a different team and all different girls. It seems to have made a world of difference in how she plays. Not to mention the coach of this team has more experience that her coach in the past.

Have a good one!

A Little Bit of Winter

Tuesday, February 1st the high temperature was 70 degrees. A cold front came through that night.
Temperature Wednesday morning was 37 and the temperature slowly dropped through the day. A Winter Storm Warning was issued from 3pm - 6am Thrusday.

It started raining about 3pm. By 3:40 the temp was 32 and the rain was mixed with sleet. Church was cancelled.

This picture was taken while I was at the horses through my windshield. You can see the sleet accumulating on the window.

Click here for a short video clip of the beginning of our Winter Storm at the horses.

Click here for one last video of sleet covering streets.

Temperature Thursday morning 2-3 was 19. It was snowing big flakes. Wind Chill Advisory was issued from 9pm Thursday until 9am Friday. Wind chill values were -5 to 5 degrees!😲

Fancy wanted me to quit taking pictures and give her breakfast!

 Diamond felt the same!

Click here for a short video clip of Thursday morning 2-03.

This is when I am extremely grateful I have 4-wheel drive.

We didn't get a lot of snow. Only 2 1/2 inches but there is 1 1/2 of ice underneath. Friday was more treacherous on the roads.

I went out several times to try to keep breaking the ice on the bird bath.

The high Thursday was 21! Too cold for this Texas Girl!

Have a good one!

Two Grands Play Basketball

I am sorry that I have been MIA. I just can't seem to keep up like I used to 😉.

Kennedy and Kashton both played basketball. This was Kennedy's first year. We were all surprised when she said she wanted to play as she hadn't shown much interest and she really doesn't like to run!

Kennedy played with another private Christian School in our area called Grace Academy.

Kennedy is in 6th grade.
