Snow in Texas! 1-10-2021

For those of you who live in places where it snows often this post will probably be boring to you. It doesn't snow very often here and when it does EVERYONE gets excited.

We got to finish 2020 with snow! I thought it was a great way to end a very difficult year! About 9:30 PM New Year's Eve brought a very short-lived snow. Enough to cover the grass but was gone by morning.

Then we got another snow January 10th. We are very fortunate that the temperature stayed above freezing as we received lots of snow but almost all of it was gone by the next day.

Watch here for a short video clip as the snow started. Here is another short clip at the horses.

It started snowing about 8:30AM on Sunday. I got ready for church and went to feed horses.

The snow was beginning to cover the roads. This is the driveway to the horse barn.

In anticipation of the weather, I blanketed the horses the night before.

I fed the barn cats then headed to the other barn to feed the horses.

Its so pretty.

Diamond still had some snow flakes on his head.

This is the property that is next to where the horses are. The barn is to my right. Looks like a winder wonderland.

This is also a view of the other property.

The best part of this snow event was while I was in church. The snow was melting quickly. What is even stranger is that South of us the snow was heavier and they had more accumulation.

Except for those who made snowmen, the snow was all melted by the next day. It was fun while it lasted!

Have a good one!

Christmas at the Bailey's 12-26-2020

Keannon and Kennedy got back with Remi around 2:30PM on December 26th. We arrived a little ahead of that and I took a few pictures before the mayhem began! As you can see they are still waiting on the doors that go in the space behind the tree that open to the patio. I think this is my most favorite room in the house because of the windows.

Stockings are in place.

Vanessa was bummed the "E" from "Peace" got broke. I think a little super glue will fix that right up.

Vanessa ordered these wonderful cookies from the same lady that made the Thanksgiving cookies and the cookies for Korin's birthday party. They are "almost" too pretty to eat!

Kashton and Korin playing Tic-Tac-Toe while waiting for Remi.

I took a few updated photos of the house. This is looking from what they are now calling the "gameroom" which is where the fire was the worst. To my right you see a little step up. That goes to the front door. The sofa to my left with it's back to us is the room where the Christmas tree is.

Where the fireplace used to be is now built-in cabinets.

The other side of the kitchen. The refrigerator is a loaner until the one they ordered comes in.

This is the office that is just off of the kitchen. All the cabinetry is built-in. The door way you see in the picture goes to Korin's room

Looking into Korin's room.

These notes were stuck on Korin's door. Click on the picture to see it larger. They will make you laugh or at least smile! She got the idea from Kashton who did this first on his door but I saw Korin's room first.

Here are a couple of his notes. "If you want to cum in you half to like Baby Yoda". Kashton is a big Baby Yoda fan.

And of course he would write this!

Kashton's room with a dinosaur theme.

Kennedy's room.

The other side of Kennedy's room.

Remi arrives and before we start I get a picture of them with their Christmas pj's.

They are so anxious to open presents but they comply.

Vanessa came up with a genius idea for the kids to be able to contain their gifts. (At least the smaller ones) 😉

Vanesa and Keannon got Korin some big things that couldn't be wrapped for her baby dolls so they had her hide her eyes with this sleep mask.

Her response was worth it. Vanessa got some second hand real baby crib, high chair and changing table. Needless to say, Korin was thrilled.

Kennedy gets a laptop. The glasses are to help your eyes when on electronic devices. She got a pair for all the kids.

Kashton very excited and thankful for a gift.

Doyle and Mom watching the mayhem.

The couches are rented while the kids wait for the future that has been ordered.

Keannon is a die-hard Cowboys fan so he always likes getting anything with Cowboys on it.

Now you can see how the laundry baskets came in handy!

The kitty found a comfy place to get out of the way.

Keannon surprised Vanessa with a new wedding ring. She had lost her set some time ago.

Kashton has been talking of late about serving in the military. Vanessa found this life-like uniform that comes complete with personalized patches.

This of course isn't all the photos but enough to give you an idea. It was a great Christmas for everyone!

Have a good one!
