Day 28 of the 30 Day Color Challenge

It is Day 28 of the 30 Day Color Challenge.

This is a digital image by Mo Manning. Although I don't have many of this artist's images I really like her work!

I colored the image using my Copic Markers. The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co.

The paper is scrap from another project. It's an old Bo Bunny line but I just love the colors. I thought it worked well with the colors I used for the image.

Have a good one!

Lil' Man

Kennedy had cheer competition on Saturday so her team had a special practice on Friday night. Vanessa asked me if I could keep Kashton as it was going to take a couple of hours. I told her sure.

He was excited to come to Savtah's house. He waved and said bye as he kept walking to my door! It was a beautiful day and he wanted to be outside. I must admit I did too! The first thing he wanted to do was play with the hula hoop. I swung it around on my arm (I can't make my hips wiggle enough to keep the thing going!) He wanted to do the same. As you will see it didn't take him long to want to do something else!

He then spied the stroller and wanted to ride in it. He wanted to see the cows. We have some cows down the street from us. There is also some goats and a horse.

When we got to where the horse is. The horse was on the other side of the pasture. Kashton called out and said "whorsey, whorsey". I chuckled to myself thinking "that horse isn't going to come". Well, wouldn't you know it. It did come!
He was all about seeing the horse and giving him grass until it walked to him and as you can see he was scared when the horse got close! I assured him the horse wouldn't hurt him. I picked him up so he could pet the horse.

Kashton didn't want to get to close to the cows at first. He kept saying "no, cows get me". I reassured him that the fence wouldn't let the cows "get him". I picked him up and got him to touch one of the cows nose and tongue!
I told him "Let's go feed my horses".

He's helping me with the hay.

Helping spread out the hay. He really liked this part!
He also had a fascination with locking the gate.

He kept saying he wanted to ride so I put a halter on Clyde and put Kashton on bareback. He wasn't too keen on that. I got him to ride for a few steps but he just wan't comfortable up there by himself. I didn't want to try to ride with him without some help.

We got back to the house and I started fixing supper. I guess he thought that meant it was time to eat as he crawled up in the chair that had his booster seat. He loves ice chips so I gave him a cup with ice chips in it while I cooked.
It wasn't long that he took off his socks and shoes.
I'm not sure what he's doing but I thought it was cute! Silly boy! He so looks like his daddy here!
Mom and sisters arrived just as we were eating supper. Granddad got to have some "Korin" time.
Korin just turned 6 months March 26th. My the time is going too fast!
Have a good one!

Day 27 of the 30 Day Color Challenge

Three more days of the 30 Day Color Challenge.

This stamp set from Unity Stamp Company by Phyllis Harris is "More Blessed to Give". It has several sentiments with it. I was trying to hurry when I made this so it's not my best work. I didn't leave room for a sentiment so I adapted. Not sure I'm happy with it but it's done now!

I colored the image with my Copic Markers. The papers are leftovers from other projects. I think it is an old Fancy Pants "birthday" collection.

Have a good one!

Batty Day at the Office

Thursday (March 26th) was an ordinary day at the office. Pastors pray is on Thursday mornings. They start at 8am and are still going when I arrive. They were quit chatty with me and one another as they began to dismiss. I had a friend come in as they were leaving. We had been talking for a while when for some reason I cannot recall why I look up at the ceiling. I was startled. I saw something I knew was not supposed to be there! I couldn't decide if it was a HUGE bug or what! About that time my friend sees it and says "that's a bat". We both try to get a picture of it. This was taken with my phone. I then
remembered I had my SLR camera with me in the truck which had my zoom lens with it. Now you can see him a bit better. All that commotion in the office and he was undisturbed!

We have a local Bat Sanctuary which I called.

Someone came out within 10 minutes! Our ceilings are really tall!

He got the bat down safely. The little bat wasn't too happy. He squawked a lot!

Needless to say that was a first in my 15 years of working here!

Day 26 of the 30 Day Color Challenge

It's Day 26 of the 30 Day Color Challenge.

"I Will Give You My Heart" is the name of this stamp set from Unity Stamp Co by Phyllis Harris. I colored the image with my Copic Markers. I then added some glossy accents to the heart and used a pearl pen to enhanced the dots on her skirt. I opted not to use the sentiments that came with this stamp but instead used a scrap piece of paper that had the word "love" on it.

Have a good one!

Day 25 of the 30 Day Color Challenge

Today is day 25 of the 30 Day Color Challenge. I had embossed the gold background a very long time ago when I had made a card for a family member. I stuck it away in my card scrap pile. I kept passing it over as I wasn't quite sure what to do with it until now. I thought it worked great with this image. This is a rubber stamp set called "Too Beautiful for Earth" created by Phyllis Harris and sold through Unity Stamp Company.

The gold background is a metallic and I used a Stampin Up embossing folder.

I colored the image with my Copic Markers. It doesn't show in the picture above but I went over the wings with a clear Wink giving it some sparkle. The close up shows the sheen.

I love this tule that has gold dots on it. I think it works perfectly with this card.

Have a good one!

Day 24 of the 30 Day Color Challenge

Welcome back to Day 24 of the 30 Day Color Challenge. This stamp set is from Unity Stamp Co by Phyllis Harris called "Face the Sunshine".

I colored the image using my Copic Markers. The background paper is a scrap from my stash, an Authentique line but I don't recall which one.

The weather is going to be just fabulous this weekend so I may not get any coloring done since I will more than likely be outside!

Have a good one!

Day 23 of the 30 Day Color Challenge

"Miracles Happen" is the name of this stamp set by Unity Stamp Co and designed by Phyllis Harris. I do believe miracles happen! I would like to see more! I colored this image with my Copic Markers. The background paper is from my scraps. It is Little Bicycle beach line from a few years ago. I loved these papers. I chose to cut the sentiment up into individual words to fit along side the image.

I can't believe the 30 Day Color Challenge is almost over. I do think I will take the advice of one of my friends and keep going. I will have a nice collection of cards to either give or sell.

Remi, my oldest granddaughter who lives in California will be coming Saturday to stay over her spring break. We can hardly wait! We haven't seen her since Christmas!

Have a good one!

Riding Rails to Trails

I am enjoying riding my bike again but boy am I tired when I'm done! Guess I need to give it time to regain some stamina after my 3 month break for winter! After riding with Adrianne the other night I decided to ride the same route to change things up a bit.  So I did that on Wednesday. Taking this route also keeps me from crossing roads! This is my favorite spot on the trail. It will be really shaded after the trees leaf out.

Now I thought this was humorous. This bridge goes over "Dry Creek". Although it wasn't running it definitely wasn't dry!

There were several trees along the trail that had blossoms. I also began noticing clumps of white in the limbs. This is what I saw on closer inspection!

I rode 13 miles taking me an hour and 16 minutes.

It was a beautiful day!

A dry line ahead of a cold front brought us hope of some much needed rain. Although we only got a sprinkle it produced some interesting clouds!

Have a good one!

Day 22 of the 30 Day Color Challenge

This is day 22 of the 30 Day Color Challenge. I just couldn't get everything done yesterday in time to post.  I rode my bike, then I was at the horses. I'm working with Fancy. Although she knew how to load in the trailer she wasn't taught to back out. So we are working on that. I did get her to load and unload successfully two times!

Ok on to the coloring! I'm not as happy with my coloring on this card. I colored using my Copic Markers and one that I used needs to be refilled.

I had colored the dog. Then after coloring the rest of the image decided I need to blend a bit more. I'm not sure why but I had put the marker I used back in my marker case. I did't get the same marker I originally used and colored enough I was committed to recoloring the whole image! I finally quit before I made it any worse!

This is a rubber stamp from Unity designed by (you guessed it) Phyllis Harris called Brandy and Emma: Bubbles of Fun.

Have a good one!

Surprise Birthday Party

Saturday Vanessa planned a surprise birthday party for her dear friend, who is more like a sister. Her mother and I have been friends for years and the girls grew up together. She even went on at least one family vacation. It got to be a joke with us because people thought Vanessa belong to my friend.

Anyway Leslie turned 25 March 19th. The plan was to have a "painting with a twist" party except it was done by another person who calls her business "Paint Me Crazy". It is the same concept. Then dinner after at Brazos Market and Bistro.

I was working at the store that day but took off that evening for a few hours to attend. It was alot of fun!

Here is Leslie with flowers she got for her birthday.

Vanessa did manage to pull off the surprise although it almost was blown earlier in the day!

This is what we were going to paint. I'm thinking to myself..."there is no way mine will look like that!" But I was willing to give it a try.

This is what we started with. This time several of us are saying "there's no way I can paint like that!"

Autumn (the instructor) told us step by step what to do and how to do it. We began by painting the background.

I took a few seconds to snap this picture.

Vanessa and my friend Teresa (mother of the birthday girl).

Leslie painting.

My painting in progress.

Autumn giving us instructions on the next step.

Almost done!

I must say I surprised myself! I still can't believe I did this!

It really was a fun evening.  Vanessa, Teresa, me and Leslie.

This was taken earlier in the day. I just love this picture. Don't Vanessa and Leslie look like sisters?

Have a good one!

Day 20 of 30 Day Color Challenge

I am just barely getting day 20 in of the 30 Day Color Challenge! Can't believe it's almost over already!

I decided to use a different stamp.  This image is by Little Miss Muffet called Sugar 'n Spice Dolls Vanilla. The sentiment is from another stamp set.

I colored the image using my Copic Markers.

Hope you enjoy!

Have a good one!

Day 19 of 30 Day Color Challenge

I am so enjoying the 30 Day Color Challenge even if I haven't been able to do it every day. This image is a Unity Stamp by Phyllis Harris called "Sense of Wonder". I colored the image with my Copic Markers. The paper is Bo Bunny's Prairie Chic collection.

For interest I chose to use glossy accents on the butterfly, tulips, and hair bow. Because flowers and butterflies make me think of spring I am also entering this card in Cards in Envy's challenge "Spring is in the Air".

Have a good one!

Day 18 of 30 Day Color Challenge

I chose a different method of coloring today. I also used a stamp from a different company and artist! Are you surprised?!

Today I got out my Twinkling H2O's. For those who don't know what those are they are water colors with mica in them giving the color some sheen.

The stamp I used is by Stampendous. This stamp is even bigger than the others I've been using. It is so big that I had to make the card 6x6 for the image to fit! I really like how this turned out. After painting the flower I cut it out. I then used foam tape to give the flower some dimension. The sentiment is a Unity Stamp.

I took this one so you can see the sheen that the H2O's make.

Thanks for taking a look!

Have a good one!

Challenged

We got some much needed rain and for once it was more than a few tenths. We got a whole inch! We seem to be in a rainy pattern which is very good since we are still in extreme drought.  Made it a little messy feeding Wednesday morning but I did not complain!

It stayed overcast and cool until about 5 then the sun popped out and it warmed up a bit. Unfortunately though, I didn't have time to ride the bike as it was church night.

A young woman I am acquainted with and has been my inspiration to ride my bike made plans to ride the trail together on Thursday after work. I'm old enough to be her mother! She runs her own business a little coffee hut that sits on the church property.

She starts riding the trail at my 4 mile marker. One thing about it you don't have to cross any streets which is nice but to do that I have to put my bike in my truck. Just seems to make more sense to me to ride my bike from home and back again.

Thursday after she closed the coffee shop and I got through at the scrapbook store we met at the trail. I stayed with her for the first 2 miles. I could quickly tell that I was not going to be able to keep up so I told her not to worry about me and to keep going. I'd catch up with her eventually even if it was on her way back!

We rode to a little community called Garner. From where we started that's 6 miles one way. If I had ridden it from home it would have been 10 miles. I may do that when I build some stamina. It was here I chose to stop and rest while she rode another mile.

Here she is coming back to meet up with me.

And there she goes!

I didn't try to keep up just keep going! I appreciated being challenged just a bit.

I ended up riding 12 miles in an hour and eight minutes!

Once we got back to our trucks we parted ways.

I came to feed just as the sun was setting behind a cloud bank. The hope of more rain to come.

Have a good one!
