Day 22 of the 30 Day Color Challenge

This is day 22 of the 30 Day Color Challenge. I just couldn't get everything done yesterday in time to post.  I rode my bike, then I was at the horses. I'm working with Fancy. Although she knew how to load in the trailer she wasn't taught to back out. So we are working on that. I did get her to load and unload successfully two times!

Ok on to the coloring! I'm not as happy with my coloring on this card. I colored using my Copic Markers and one that I used needs to be refilled.

I had colored the dog. Then after coloring the rest of the image decided I need to blend a bit more. I'm not sure why but I had put the marker I used back in my marker case. I did't get the same marker I originally used and colored enough I was committed to recoloring the whole image! I finally quit before I made it any worse!

This is a rubber stamp from Unity designed by (you guessed it) Phyllis Harris called Brandy and Emma: Bubbles of Fun.

Have a good one!

Be Still and Know

My friend and I just finished co-leading a Beth Moore study "Jesus the One and Only". This was her first time to do something like this. She did a great job and even lead class for me when I went with the kids to Arkansas for court. I wanted to give her a little something as a "thank you" and created this card. It had been a while since I had made one and even longer since I had colored! I've been in scrapbook mode. For some reason I can't seem to do both. I either make cards or I scrapbook. My goal is to make cards after making a layout using the paper scraps left. It's a good goal...but it hasn't happened yet!

I kept the card pretty simple. No ribbon, not buttons, no brads. Just layered paper and a colored image. I used a Phyllis Harris stamp by Unity called "Your Wings Exist". I just love Phyllis Harris stamps and have almost all of them! I used my Copic Markers to color the image, fussy cut then popped with foam tape for dimension. In looking for cardstock to mat the sentiment with I discovered a strip that I had used a border punch on and thought it would work perfectly. My friend was very pleased with her card and so was I!

I have been spending a LOT of time in my craft room....but not for me! These two little crafters make a beeline for my craft room every time they are here! I have given each of them an Artbin which I refer to as their "totes. Kennedy's is purple and is in the bottom left of this photo. I have put papers, all sorts of stickers, scissors and put their names on them.

I am happy to encourage them to create!
The other day, Vanessa kept her friend's little boy, Legend. He came over with the girls and got introduced to crafting too! He LOVED it! He made two cards using glitter glue, stickers and....
Yep, I even let him use some ink! Look at that happy face!
He's also 3. He's 5 months younger than Kennedy.
The girls did a good job of sharing their stickers and paper with Legend.
I apologize for the crummy background. All I was thinking about was capturing the moment as the girls were being silly!
The girls cousin, Krystal came along with them. She is the same age as Remi (4). They play together well.
I just love these crazy kids! L to R Krystal (4), Kennedy (3), Remi (4), Kashton (5 months)

Have a good one!

Love This Moment

I completed a two page layout two weeks ago. Geez, I can't believe it's been two weeks since I've been able to scrapbook! It's been pretty busy!

I used Little Yellow Bicycle Fern & Forest Girl for this layout. These pictures are 2 years old!

I also made a card for Remi. She comes again this Saturday! The 3 weeks since her last visit have FLOWN by!

I just love this stamp set! It is a Phyllis Harris design by Unity called "Listen from the heart". Of course I had to have it because of the horse! I colored the image with my Copic Markers. I tried to color the horse to look like Clyde.

I am entering these projects in Cat's Creations WOW Wednesday. A random commenter will be chosen for a prize so be sure to leave me a comment. For more chances to win comment on others who have linked their creations to the blog.

I'll try to blog soon about my holiday weekend!

Have a good one!

WOW Wednesday at Cat's Creations!

It's WOW Wednesday over at Cat's Creations. I have two cards I want to share today.

The first is a card I made for my granddaughter Remi. We haven't seen Remi since two weeks before Christmas. Remi's stepdad is in the Air Force and was sent to California. We are hoping to get to see her soon.
This stamp is designed by Phyllis Harris and sold through Unity. I just love Phyllis Harris stamps! You will be seeing more of these from me! This one is called "Present in my Heart". Where Remi leaves is not far from the beach so this stamp made me think of her. The DP is Bo Bunny. I colored the image with Copic Markers. I apologize but I neglected to write down what ones I used before I put them away. On the inside of the card is the sentiment "Even though we're far a part You're still present in my heart".  It worked perfectly.

Vanessa & Keannon will celebrate their 1st anniversary on Saturday the 13th. I decided to make another card.
This stamp is called "Le Baiser Vole`" by Little Miss Muffet Stamps. I wasn't going to buy this stamp because I didn't think I would use it much but I've already made four cards with it and all of them were anniversary! My daughter's wedding colors were black and purple so I tried to go with that color scheme. I used an embossing folder on the white background. I colored the stamped image with my Copic Markers and then cut of the image. I put some foam tape under the image for dimension. On the parasol I used a white gel pen to give the look of pearls. This time I remembered to show the markers I used. Thanks Sandy T for the idea!
I chose to put the sentiment on the inside which reads "Happy Anniversary ". I'll also hand write a personal note before I give it to them.

That's it for me today. Keeping it short and simple. Leave me a comment for a chance to win a prize from Cat's Creations. Be sure to check Cat's Creations Blog for other participants, leave them some comments for more chances to win. A random commenter will be chosen but you can't win if you don't comment!

Have a good one!

Sending My Love

One of the things I wanted to try to do this year is participant in more of Operation Write Home card challenges. I am already getting behind but I am going to stay with it and try to do the challenges and sketches whether I meet the deadline or not.
I made this card using Operation Write Home Sketch#156. The papers I used are from Little Yellow Bicycle's winter collection "Winterings" that I had left from a one page layout I did. Which, by the way, I realized I didn't get a picture of! I'll do that tomorrow when I'm at the store. (note to self.) The image and sentiment are from Unity's stamp set "Sending My Love". I stamped the mailbox and cut it out. I also stamped and cut out the envelope. Using my craft knife I cut a slit in the mailbox so I could insert the envelope and used foam tape to give it some dimension. I also put foam tape behind the sentiment. The brads were from my stash.

I also made this card for Operation Write Home - The ABCs of Color Basic Color Theory. If I did this right, I am using a color scheme based on Nature. I need to practice some more with this. Not sure if I completely understand it yet.

I also made a card for Remi. We last saw her 2 weeks before Christmas. We were supposed to have her the week after Christmas but her mother and step dad had to relocate to California. Step dad is in the Air Force. She was supposed to come for a 7day visit this week but an agreement couldn't be reached. Makes me sad for everyone. Unless things change it is looking like Keannon will have to go to court again.

I got this adorable little girl popping out of an envelope from Sliekje Digi Stamps. It's called "Surprise in an Envelope". She is so gracious to share her digi's for free. She has so many that I really like. I colored her with my Copic Markers then decided to add a little bling for some sparkle. The DP is from Echo Park from a couple of summers ago. The sentiment is from the Unity Stamp set above. Looking at this just now makes me wish I had added some ribbon but I was in a hurry to get this in the mail.

Our church's ladies retreat is this weekend. Looking forward to a little time away to connect with Him and fellowship with my friends!

Have a good one.

Second Attempt at Sparkles and Bling

Being I wasn't completely satisfied with the last creation I entered in Digi Haven's First 2013 Challenge , I tried again. In this challenge you can enter up to 3 projects.
This was originally a free digi from Cuddlebug Cuties but you will have to buy it now if you want this image. I colored the image and sky with my copic markers. My "sparkles and bling" are minimal on this card. I used clear rhinestones in her hair bows and on the stars on her shirt. I used glossy accents on her eyes. There wasn't a sentiment that came with this image. She looks sad to me so I chose to use a "miss you" sentiment from Unity. I put foam tape behind the sentiment for dimension. I am also entering this card in Digi Haven's Challenge.

Thanks for looking! Have a good one!

Sparkles and Bling

I have been trying to find time to make a card for the Grand Re-opening of Digi Haven Challenges. They are offering some great prizes! The theme is "Sparkles and Bling". You have until the 17th to enter.

I'm beginning to wonder about myself here lately. I'm either not remembering things, or forgetting things, or just plain not thinking straight. I began creating a card and was nearly through with it when I realized I couldn't enter it in the challenge because it wasn't a digi image! It's not a lost cause as I can always use a card and I can include it in my Operation Write Home box.
This image and sentiment is a Unity set. I stamped the strawberry with black Memento ink and colored with my copic markers and added red bling for some dimension. The sentiment I stamped with Distressed Ink Barn Door, used a copic marker for the leaves around the "B" and added red bling to the word "adorable". I used foam tape behind both the strawberry and sentiment.

Here is my next attempt at a card to enter into Digi Haven's Sparkles and Bling Card Challenge. The image is from Doodle Pantry. It didn't quite come out like I had envisioned but I was commited. I didn't do a very good job of coloring the background for my night sky. For my "sparkles" I used stickles for the fireworks explosions and red glitter paper behind the image. For my "bling" I used red rhinestones over each letter "i" in the sentiment.

I also made a two page layout using new Easter papers and stickers from Reminisce.  I used pictures of Kennedy's 2nd Easter (which was last April) for this two page layout. Next time you're at the store be sure to look for this layout and for the papers and stickers.

If you've made it this far I want to remind you that it's WOW Wednesday at  Cat's Creations. Cat's is giving away blog candy to a random commenter so be sure to leave me one! For a greater chance to win link up your own project to Cat's Creations Blog. Then visit others who have linked up and leave comments there too! Who knows you might even get inspired in your hop!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a good one!

Christmas is a Comin'!

As I am pondering how many days it is before Christmas and trying to decide what to title this blog, this lyric "Christmas is a comin'" popped into my head.

I am barely going to make it for WOW Wednesday at Cat's Creations Blog.

I'll keep this short and simple. I have done a little crafting but not as much as I would like. I MUST get my room back under control! I can't find ANYTHING!

In the meantime I made a card to send to my granddaughter Remi.
This digital image is from Scrap Happy Paper Crafter. I colored him with my Copic markers. The papers are from my stash. The light DP is a fall Bo Bunny from a few years ago. The green is an older paper from Graphic 45. I used a Stampin Up border punch on the green piece.

Kennedy got a scrapbooking kit for her birthday from someone besides me! In her kit were some cards and envelopes. She wanted to make Remi a card so I helped her.
I asked her what she wanted to say and then I wrote it for her. I thought that was so sweet.
Since Remi and Kennedy know the first letter of their names (Remi can write her name), I made some tags for their gifts that they could find.  The tags actually match better than it looks in this photo. I stamped the image and letters with Versamark and heat embossed with white powder. Then using Tim Holtz distressed ink Faded Jeans I inked the tag. I thought they turned out cute.
Here's a close up.
This is an Impression Obsessions stamp that I purchased at Cat's Creations. I just love it! I also made a few Christmas cards with it.
I heat embossed using silver powder. The sentiment I created using my "Just Rite" alphabet stamps. (Also purchased at Cat's.)  The border I created using a punch from Stampin Up. As you can see, I still haven't perfected getting all the way around the edges evenly with the punch!

Well that's it for me today. Be sure to leave me a comment for a chance to win blog candy given to a random commenter from Cat's Creations. Be sure to check out all the details here.  Have a good one!
