Pink and Gray Card Challenge

Cards in Envy card challenge is "Pink and Gray". I chose to use a new stamp I purchased from Unity.

You guys know my love of Unity Stamps more specifically the "Phyllis Harris" designs. Unity has a line of stamps called "Angie Girls" designed by Angie Blom. I am quickly falling for these too! This one is one of my favorites right now. It's called "Joy Girl". This stamp can be used for Christmas or winter. What I like most is the word "Joy" on the ornament she is holding. I have made some other cards with this same image. I'll blog about them in another post.

The background paper is from a Little Yellow Bicycle 6x6 pad called "Winterings".

I stamped the image with black memento ink then colored with my Copic Markers. I stamped the ornament again with Versa Mark ink then heat embossed with silver and cut out so I could but some foam tape under it to give it dimension.

For the snow I used Distress stickles Frosted Lace. I finished it off with a bit of ribbon.

Not sure what I will do with this one. Might just send it as a "thinking of you" card to surprise a friend with. Who knows....it might just be you 😊 with a little note of encouragement from me 😊.

Thanks for taking a look.

Have a good one!

Lost First Tooth 1-15-2017

Kennedy lost her first tooth! She is so proud.

The kids were at friends when it came out. She couldn't wait and called to tell us! As soon as they got home she came running over to show us!

County Fair 1-12-2017

The County Fair was last week. Doyle really nudged me to enter some of my photos. He had tried
before but I didn't take him seriously. He was pretty insistent so I did it for him.

I know there are lots of people out there who take pictures and do a much better job than me so I will admit I was not expecting to place. Boy was I wrong!

I entered a total of 26 photos. I was allowed to enter up to 3 in each category.  I entered photos in 9 categories I placed in 7 out of 9 categories and 14 of the photos placed with 6 of those being 1st place! I was surprised!

I took a picture of some of my photos that placed as they were displayed at the fair. This photo is actually a horizontal shot but they didn't know that.

If you follow my blog, these pictures will look familiar as you have seen them before :)

The spider web is my photo.

Kennedy about to serve in volleyball got a blue ribbon as did my "green bug" on the cabled fence next to it.

The windmill is mine.

This isn't a clear picture of the entry but the Blue ribbon is mine. It's the rock bridge at Heritage Park.

Here are all the photos that placed.

I also entered some cards in the craft category. I could only enter 3.

I think I will do this again.

Have a good one!

Stroll at the State Park 1-11-2017

On a Wednesday afternoon it was a beautiful warm day. I didn't have enough time to ride but it was too pretty to not enjoy the outdoors so I made a quick trip to the State Park with my camera.

There were birds flying everywhere so I tried to get some pictures. They were good and staying just out of reach!

Some ducks flying overhead.

I was actually hoping to see the eagle that is reported to be seen at the park. The last few years there have been a couple that come during the winter months. I've never seen them myself just pictures others have posted. I think the only way I'm going to see it is to make a trip out one morning.

I spotted this little beauty by the side of the park road across from the entrance to the spillway.

I had startled this bird as I was driving across the spillway. This was as close as I could get!

I tried to get closer to this one too but I spooked it :(

I spotted some more deer and this one spotted me!

I drove back across the spillway and wanted to get this picture of the Baker in the distance. I was shooting through some tree limbs. Do you notice the haze? That is what is causing everyone in our city to have snotty noses. It's cedar pollen!

When I turned to walk back to the truck I was startled by these guys! I never noticed they were there. They never made a sound!

The moon was pretty as I was feeding horses.

Free Braid 1-10-2017

Kennedy had spent the night and went to work with me. I had a hair appointment and she went with
me. After Rachel was done with my hair Kennedy asked if she would do a "fish tail" braid in her hair. I didn't realize Kennedy had asked her until Rachel said yes and told her to hop up in the chair!

I love Rachel. She has been doing my hair since Vanessa was in high school!  I have a standing appointment with her every 5 weeks. Years ago before Rachel I used to wait until I couldn't stand my hair anymore then try to get in. Then the challenge was to find a hair dresser that would give me a hair style that I could manage. The next challenge was to be able to keep that same stylist. It seemed the ones I liked and did good never stuck around, that is until Vanessa connected me to Rachel. Then everything came together.

I thought that was so sweet of Rachel to do that for Kennedy.

All beautified just like Savtah :)

Have a good one!

Stunning 1-10-2017

Beginnings of a beautiful colored filled sky.

Moon is almost obscure behind the clouds.

I just love the weather vane silhouetted by the sunset.

And there it is! Beautiful pinks and oranges.

The moon still behind a thin layer of clouds but now they have some color!

One last look at the moon as it becomes a little more visible.

I don't know what it is about capturing the colorful sky through the leafless trees but I like it!

Especially this tree!

I say my goodbyes as the color fades.

Have a good one!

Cake Just Because 1-09-2017

Kennedy was after me to make a cake. Of course she likes to help and I like to let her.  I wish I had done that more when Vanessa was little. I don't think I had the patience back then.

She's just so darn cute with a smudge of flour on her face :)

Kennedy likes to crack the eggs. This recipe calls for 2 but as you can see there are three! That's because the 2nd egg held a surprise! Kennedy got so excited to get two out of one!

Making sure it all tastes good! Kennedy agrees with me that the cake batter is the best part :)

Getting every last drop that didn't make it into the cake pan!

The sky was beautiful when I went to feed. The moon although not full...it looked that way and it was so pretty coming up as the sun went down.

The pictures just don't do it justice. It was so very pretty.

You'll have to click on this picture to make it larger so you can see a sliver of what appears to be a large star that I believe is a planet. Maybe Venus?

One last look at the moon with a film of haze and a jet trail.

Have a good one!
