Update Ross Fire 091626

I didn't mean to leave anyone hanging. Life has been very full! After burning for 3 weeks the Ross Fire is 100% contained as of September 16th! Mineral Wells on this map is where you see the "Mi" on the right side of the picture

As I write about the Ross Fire, many other wildfires have broken out in our State. It is still very dry and temps still reaching 100 or more with wind.

There is a wildfire in our neighboring county (Parker). Mineral Wells sits just to the West of the Parker/Palo Pinto county line. This fire is named "Red Bank". It started Tuesday September 15th 8 miles east of a small town called Lipan. It has consumed 207 acres and is 70% contained.

There is another dangerous wildfire named "Hydra" that started 6 miles South of Meridian also on Tuesday, September 15th. Meridian is about 85 miles South of us.

This fire has spread quickly similar to the Ross Fire. It has consumed 1,000 acres and is only 25% contained at this time. This fire initiated an evacuation order for the town of Meridian the evening of September 15th. That evacuation order was lifted.

The Lobo Fire started Tuesday September 15th 3 miles Northeast of Cisco. Cisco is about 66 miles Southwest of us. This fire has burned 658 acres and is 75% contained.
