Destiny's Wedding 5-4-2017

Family began arriving for Destiny and Michael's wedding late Monday night (5-1). Dad and Barbara arrived in town about 10:30PM. Wayne and Kelley about 2AM.

We had lunch together at the house Tuesday. I love this picture of Dad with Kennedy.

I didn't get a lot of pictures as I still wasn't functioning 100%.

The wedding was Thursday, May 4th at the Lonestar Mansion in Burleson. It is a beautiful place!

They aren't turned on yet but you may notice something purple in the left corner of this photo.

Destiny is a Stars Wars fan. And the theme of the wedding had Stars Wars throughout. This is a light saber and they were used for decoration.

The wedding party came outside for some pictures and we got a few minutes with Addison.

It was a little bit of an ordeal as there were several buttons and loops!

I took a short video of the photography using a drone to get a group shot of the wedding party. I hadn't seen that done before! You can see that here.

It was a little chilly with the wind so Vanessa borrowed the light jacket I brought.

Dance Recital - Set Sail on the Sea 4-29-2017

Kennedy's annual dance recital was Saturday April 29th. She did beautifully! Kennedy is doing so well that the dance instructor keeps moving her up. She is in a dance group with 9 and 10 year olds! I've been enough times now that I'm beginning to notice those who "learn the moves" and those who "feel" the music. Kennedy "feels" the music. I absolutely love watching her perform her ballet numbers. I wish that I could video and photograph at the same time!

Their other number was a tap routine.

I wished I had remembered to take off my camera bag before Vanessa took this picture!

I'm pretty amazed at this picture because these two are not married anymore! This is Nana (Jan- Vanessa's stepmom all her childhood) and Papa Joe with Jacob (Vanessa's youngest brother). Joe Don's current wife was working and unable to attend.

I have no idea why we all thought we had to kneel for the pictures!

Kennedy with Grammer!

The two little ones were not very cooperative.

I finally did get one of all of them.

I did not feel well this day. I was functioning on ibuprofen but I couldn't miss dance recital! I felt bad enough that I didn't go to church on Sunday. Monday I went to the doctor and discovered I had strept. No wonder I felt bad!

It was a great recital though and Kennedy to a wonderful job!

Have a good one!

Motherly Love Challenge #2

I decided with a little encouragement to enter another card in Cards in Envy "Motherly Love
Challenge".

This was pretty simple but I had fun making it. I began with inking a Medallion stamp from Unity Stamp Company's February Kit of the Month called "Unexpected Places" with VersaMark ink and using black embossing powder. I did the same with the sentiment which came from Stampin Up set "Wonderful Mother".

Next I picked two Distress Ink colors: a blue (Salty Ocean) and orange (Spiced Marmalade) and applied with a blending tool. I attached to a card base a wallah! Easy peasy!

Since I have recipients of  these cards that follow this blog I won't say whose getting what 😉.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Have a good one!

Kashton Spends the Night 4-27-2017

Kashton is big enough now he is noticing how much Kennedy spends the night and he wants his turn! He got to do that on Thursday April 27th.

He wanted to play Candy Land.

Then he wanted to play Chutes & Ladders.

We played ball outside a little while. Then it was time to go feed horses.

He insisted I get a picture of him on the hay.

After we got back, I cooked dinner. He got to help me do that. He thought that was great! After dinner he wanted to play with the barn and horses. Of the 3 grands he's the one who has played the most with these toys.

He's sleeping with the Mickey Mouse pillow. The yellow you see under his head is Mickey's foot.

The plan was for him to go to work with me then Dad would come pick him up. He was so excited to go to the office with me. I found some things for him to do. He helped put water in the refrigerator for church on Sunday.

We had a great time and I foresee more sleepovers :)

Have a good one!

Motherly Love Challenge

I fell off the wagon AGAIN doing card challenges with Cards in Envy. I guess I got wrapped up in watching videos from Unity and doing their challenges.

Even though the Cards in Envy challenges last two weeks boy do those two weeks go by fast!

This challenge "Motherly Love" is to make a card not necessarily a "Mother's Day" card but a card that is "motherly".

I had already been making some "Mother's Day cards but none that looked "motherly" (mom's with babies whether people or animals.) Then I remembered a stamp I had and went to work.

I amazed myself! I love how this turned out! I had never used Kraft paper for any craft project until recently watching videos from Unity Stamp Company. They use Kraft paper a lot!

The first thing I did was heat emboss the horse image with white powder on Kraft paper and cut it out.  (I'm sorry but I have know idea what stamp set this is or what company it's from. It may be an old Stamp Up but that is a guess.)

The image was rather small so I decided to stamp the background with "Tree Poem" from Stampendous. I used Distress Ink "Peeled Paint" for the tree and Distress Ink "Tea Dye" for the script.

I also embossed the sentiment with white powder. The sentiment is from Stampin Up set "Wonderful Mother".

Using a blending tool I applied Distress Ink all around the edge with Vintage Photo. I so rubbed some ink on the embossed horse image.

Thanks for taking a look.

Have a good one!
