I had made arrangements to take a daughter of a friend of mine from church riding. I don't do this as much as I did 15 years ago. It's a lot of work. In fact I just don't do it anymore unless I am fairly confident the person really wants to learn to ride and all that goes with that. Not just sit on a horse for a little while. I'm not completely sure where this girl fits yet but I do see it as a way to get to know her and possibly help her grow in her walk with God just through riding horses together. It will help me a bit too as I can't ride both horses at the same time. And as much as I enjoy alone time, it is nice to have someone to ride with you 😉

Kennedy ended up coming with me too. For our first ride I went ahead and got the horses caught and saddled as our time was limited. Kashton had a game at 5:30PM and Vanessa had another event to attend so I needed to be at Kashton's game.

I've started taking a bucket of feed to catch the horses. They have gotten bad about running when I just walk out in the pasture with a halter and rope. The bucket works good for 2 of the 3 but Diamond decided he was having none of it and put on a little show.




Ashley arrives and we begin our ride.

She sits a horse pretty good. She's asking me "are you taking a picture of me?" Why of course Ashley 😏.

Kennedy was going to lead but Clyde just wouldn't walk fast enough.

It's a little hard to tell in this picture but there are several Indian Paintbrushes where we were riding.

Kennedy had to leave to go to dance so she didn't make the last picture.

There were no incidents and everyone had fun so I call it a success!

Ashley is ready to do it again.
