Solo Fall Ride 11.09.20

I had made plans for Kennedy and I to ride again but she got into a little trouble with her mom. I however wasn't going to let not having a riding buddy stop me from enjoying a good ride!

The State Park trails were open! I was much happier. I absolutely love these trails.

This is one of my favorite sections of the trail. (I actually have several 😉)

Here's another favorite spot. I did see some deer and we startled some feral hogs. I didn't know that's what it was until I spotted one. 

I'm glad Diamond didn't see it. It was off trail. Feral hogs are a big problem in our area.

I almost started too late in the afternoon and Diamond is a slower walker especially when there's not another horse. We got back to the trailhead just before dark! It was still fun but with shorter daylight I'll have to make sure I get started sooner!

Fall Ride 11.03.2020

It was a very pretty fall day here in North Central Texas. Perfect riding weather. Kennedy and I rode the "Rails to Trails" from the State Park. I wasn't my first choice but the trails in the park were closed. 

This was Kennedy's first solo ride outside the pasture on Fancy. She is a little more "horse" than Clyde. She is younger and has a little more spunk.

Kennedy did really well.

Playing Defender 10-24-2020

It was a cold morning for us but warmed up quickly for Kashton's game. You can watch him defend the goal in the video below.

Soccer Saturday 10-10

Kashton and Korin both had soccer games. Korin's was early. Kashton's was later and at the same time as Kennedy's volleyball game so once again Vanessa and I divided and conquered 😉. Since I took Kennedy to her last game, Vanessa and I switched.

On the way to the game, I thought it got really quiet. I looked in my rear view mirror and found this! Out like a light!

The 20 minute nap was all he needed to be ready to play.

He played "defender" most of the game. Not his favorite. He'd rather be where the action is but he did really well. 

It was pretty warm that day too....the upper 80's.

Kashton was able to block several goal attempts..

The coach says he's a natural.

Double Celebration 11-8-2020

Today was very special as Doyle and I attended church with the kids so we could see Kashton and Korin get baptized.

The church has a portable "tub" that they put in the front of the church. There is a platform in the tub that people sit on then lean back to go under the water. It's a little different but it works all the same.

There were so many baptisms that they were conducted during the worship.

The blonde haired woman is the church's Director of Children's ministry.

All candidates for baptism wear the blue T-shirt that says "I am not ashamed".

Kashton was next in line.

It was a beautiful day!

Alabama 10-04-2020

Keannon's next assignment in insurance adjusting is Alabama where Hurricane Laura went through. The kids were out of school on Monday October 5th so Vanessa made spur of the moment decision to drive out to Alabama to visit him. They left Saturday and came home on Wednesday.

Keannon and another man are sharing a Airbnb and they are only about 30 minutes from the beach.

I asked Kennedy if they went swimming. She exclaimed "NO! It was too cold!" I figured the water would be warm.

I think State Farm (who Keannon is being an adjuster for) will be finishing up his claims soon and coming home before possibly going to Louisiana.

Kennedy Serves 10-3-2020

This is the first volleyball game of the season I was able to attend. 

Her team won all 3 matches.
