Aunties Come to Texas

My Aunt Sandy and Aunt Kay came to visit for a few days on July 5th. They stayed in the Peanut Palace while they were here.

On Thursday, July 7th we went out to lunch. Here we are leaving Mother's house.

On Friday, July 8th we had a cook out celebrating Keannon's birthday and the Aunties visiting.

This is a card I made for Keannon.

We had steak and chicken. Here are the grill masters!

Visiting while the guys are grilling.

Mom and my Aunt Sandy.

Vanessa and my Aunt Kay.

Kashton played in the little swimming pool while dinner was cooking.

Korin "cheesing" for me while Kashton is over my taking pictures! Kennedy was in the house. I manage to not get a picture of her!

Everybody in our little kitchen!

The birthday boy. I made him my famous chocolate sheet cake with chocolate frosting.

It was a great evening.

Aunt Sandy and Aunt Kay enjoyed their stay but had more places to go and more people to see. We said our goodbyes on Saturday night and they headed out on Sunday morning July 10th.

We loved having you here! Thanks for coming to Texas!

Have a good one!

4th of July

My holiday started REALLY early. My new riding buddy and I planned to ride before the heat. I decided to ask Keannon if he wanted to go with me. To my surprise he did! We had planned to be on the trail by 7.

I tried to get a picture of all 3 of us but it was blurry.

The rest of the day was spent indoors out of the heat.

I went to feed and could tell that a storm was in the works but a long ways off.
About 8:30 we head out to watch the fireworks. This year we were given the opportunity to park on the Sheriff's Posse grounds which gave us a front row seat!

While waiting I took some pics of the kids and of the colorful sky.

My little poser!

Kashton had just had a cupcake so that's what's all over his face.

Then it was finally time for the show to begin!

It was a spectacular show! It just gets better and better every year. We were so close the kids didn't like the loud booms! Not even Kennedy!

We managed to enjoy the show and get home before the storm arrived.

Have a good one!

Noize Camp 2016

Noize Camp is a Worship Arts Camp hosted by New River Church where Vanessa and Keannon
attend. The kids learn how to use the gifts and talents God has given them to worship Him and lead others in worship. After a week of activity there was a program at the end to show what they had learned. This camp was held at the main campus in Hudson Oaks about 30 miles from Mineral Wells. The program was Friday night July 1st.

They had a slideshow of pictures running while we waited for the program to begin. This is a picture of a picture on a big screen. Kennedy has a pink bow in her ponytail.

Another picture from the slideshow. Kennedy is on the far right of the picture and Remi is next to her in pink.

Kennedy and Remi were in the Noize Camp Jr. which was for kids up through 1st grade. Unfortunately Remi had to go home earlier that day so she wasn't in the performance.

Now I  know this looks weird. It's live shots during the performance. I happen to catch it just as it was beginning to switch from close up to full view. I thought it was kind of cool. Kennedy in the close up shot is on the left in the full view she is in the middle. You may have to click on the picture to enlarge it for a better look.

Another screen shot picture.

Kennedy spotted us!

This is only about half of the group. Can you find Kennedy?

It was a great program. I really enjoyed it!

Have a good one!

That 3 Weeks Went Fast!

Remi has already gone home. In fact she went home last Thursday June 30th. That three weeks went by so fast!

Vanessa had the kids in several Vacation Bible Schools and other activities so I didn't get to spend
much time with Remi this visit. She assured me her next three week stay would be much more laid back. Kennedy is already asking about spending the night (more than once) when Remi comes back.

The morning she was to go home the kids invited us to have breakfast with them at our local cafe "Jimmy's". It was the last day of "Noize Camp" a worship camp for kids that the kids church hosted. Remi would go home after that.

We met around 7AM. I managed to get them to sit on the bench outside the cafe on our way out for a picture.

Remi (7), Kennedy (6), Kashton (3) and Korin (21 mos).

Remi will be back on July 21st. Hopefully her three weeks at home will pass as fast as her three weeks here then she will be here before we know it!

I ended the day with a little color in the sky. This is a silhouette of Fancy.

Have a good one!

Day of Celebration

On Sunday June 26th was a day of celebration. Remi and Kennedy were both baptized!

New River is the church Keannon and Vanessa are now attending. They are large enough they have two services and the baptism was going to be in the noon service.

That worked for me so I could attend my church then leave early to make the baptism.

Keannon gets the privilege of baptizing his daughters.

He first asks Remi if she has asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior to which she replies "yes".

I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Buried with Jesus in baptism

and raised to newness of life.

Kennedy ask Jesus to come into her heart one Wednesday night when she came to church with me during children's class

It was quite a celebration! There were some adults who were baptized as well. The best part for me was when the Pastor invited anyone who had never been baptized and wanted to do that today to come forward. There were about 10 people who came forward! The church provided clothes for them to be baptized in. It was so cool!

I got a quick picture of Vanessa and Korin! She is so cute!

It was a great day for our family!

Have a good one!
