Let's see...I tried walking today...not a good idea. My little toe really bothered me. I managed to tough out 2 miles but think I will stick to riding my bike until it heals. (My horse stepped on it two weeks ago). I was a glutton for punishment and also rode my bike 5 miles. Actually I really enjoy riding my bike more than walking but know I need both kinds of exercise to get all the muscles! It was nicer today about 86. I can handle that! It threatened to rain all day but nothing as yet. We were in a thunderstorm watch until four but has been extended until 11pm. Weathermen seem to think we still have a good chance at some rain overnight or early in the morning. I hope so we could really use it. We have had the driest spring on record in years!

I am married and have one daughter who will be 20 in September! Here is a pic of my two favorite people. It was taken last year during Rodeo week. Right before the parade. My husband, Doyle, is a member of the Palo Pinto County Sheriff's Posse. They are not related to law enforcement at all but are an organization comprised of men who go trail riding and have events to raise money to give to non-profit organizations. They sponsor a ranch rodeo every year in April and always man the concession stand at our community's annual rodeo that is sponsored by the Palo Pinto County Livestock Association. Every year the Sheriff's posse elects a Sweetheart to represent their club. It is usually one of the members daughters or a family member's daughter. Last year Vanessa was elected Sheriff's posse sweetheart and she also PPCLA Rodeo Queen. She worked very hard. She rode her horse everyday for 2 months working on patterns and just getting him in shape. She was a senior that year and everyday after school she went and sold rodeo tickets and advertising. Each contestant had to sell tickets and were judged on horsemanship. The rodeo begins on Wednesday and ends on Saturday. To kick off the events there is an annual trail ride from our neighboring city Weatherford (18 miles away) to Mineral Wells. Then at 5pm there is a parade through downtown Mineral Wells then the Grand Entry of the Rodeo at 8pm. Vanessa had to ride in the Grand Entry each night of the rodeo and each contestant was introduced each night. On Saturday, all the ticket money was counted, interviews were conducted and horsemanship was judged. In the end Vanessa won Horsemanship and won the crown of PPCLA Rodeo Queen. She sold almost 8,000 in ticket sales and sign advertising! I guess you can't tell that Momma is proud!

Here's another picture of them waiting to ride in the Grand Entry at Jacksboro Rodeo. Another tidbit I didn't tell you. The horse Vanessa is riding is actually her dad's horse and he is riding hers! Vanessa is tall and very long legged. Her little Appaloosa is only 14.1 hands! The Bay Quarter Horse was definitely the mount to carry the "Queen"!

Well, I need to take a shower before church tonight so will close for now.
