Kennedy's First State Park Ride

I have been waiting for this day. As much as I want Kennedy to enjoy horses as much as I do I want it to come naturally so I don't push about the horses. Tuesday (October 27th) I had mentioned that I was going to ride and Kennedy said she wanted to go. Unfortunately, Tuesdays are her busiest day as she has gymnastics and dance. I told her that we would try to go the next day.

I just figured we would ride around the barn but she said she wanted to ride at the State Park. I was thrilled!

"Her" horse was easiest to catch. Mine on the other hand took a little more effort! I was going to take Fancy but she was such a stinker that I grabbed the first horse I could catch which happened to be Diamond. Not that he didn't give me a run for my money as well but not as long!

Interesting clouds.

Practicing her "queen" wave! She wants to run for rodeo queen one day just like her mom!

We didn't ride the whole loop and I didn't expect us to. She was ready to quit after an hour but that was pretty good for her.

Trying to get a selfie with the horses who weren't cooperating.

Oh, well.....we tried!

Kennedy wanted to look at the sign at the beginning of the trail.

Leading her mount back to the trailer to go home.

It was a great ride. I asked her if she had fun and if she wanted to do it again. She said yes to both.

Made this grandmother happy!

Have a good one!

Afternoon At Clark Gardens

I made plans to meet with a friend to spend some time together. She had suggested we walk at Clark Gardens. I only live 15 minutes away and I haven't been to Clark Gardens in .... years! I don't know why I haven't. It is such a beautiful tranquil place to be also a great place to take pictures.

This is the time of year Monarch Butterflies migrate through Texas. I believe I found some of them!

These are not Monarchs but still pretty!

I came across a female and male peacock.

It just seems so unfair that it is the male birds that are the most colorful! Don't you love his brilliant blue! I was hoping he would fan his tail but that didn't happen :(

Some more butterflies!

I had a blast and am seriously considering getting a pass. At the price of entrance to the gardens I could go 4 times a year a pay for a year's pass. I think it's worth it!

Have a good one!

Card for Dad

My Dad's birthday was Tuesday October 27th. I made him this card.

The background paper was left overs from a couple other cards I had made recently for a card challenge.

This image is a Phyllis Harris design rubber stamp by Unity Stamp Company.  I colored it with my Copic Markers. I chose this image as It made me think of when I was a little girl. Although I don't recall catching frogs, I was very much a "tom-boy" growing up. I was hoping it would make my Dad think the same.

I called him on his birthday. He was on his way to the Baptist Convention. Not sure if he got his card before he left home. I don't think so as he didn't make any reference to it.

Have a good one!

Kashton and Granddad

Tuesday October 20th, I had picked up Kashton from "school" (Mother's Day Out) and was keeping him until Vanessa could get home. I was pleased to get some pictures of him with Granddad.

He was pointing at different places on Granddad's face asking "what's this?"

The two discussing the book.

He's just so darn cute!

He loves this little train set!

This train set keeps him entertained for quite some time!

I enjoyed watching the sky as I fed horses.

The moon was pretty with the fleeting clouds of color.

Have a good one!

Trick or Treat Card Challenge

The challenge this time at Cards in Envy is "Trick or Treat". I wanted to make a card to send to Remi for Halloween so this challenge was motivation to get it done.

I had the candy corn paper. The pumpkin I fussy cut out of a paper I bought at my LLS Cat's Creations. It is from the "Goose Bumps" Collection by Reminisce. This specific paper was called "Scary Night". The heart strip on the bottom was a strip from that same paper.  I used my Just Rite alpha stamps to make the sentiment. I used versa mark ink and white embossing powder. I used foam tape to give the pumpkin dimension. I took some twine and colored it black and added to the pumpkin stem. Even though my embossing was a bit messy, (I had an awful time with it!) and I didn't let the ink on the twine dry before tying it and got some black on the paper, I am pleased with how it turned out.

Thanks for looking!

Have a good one!

Twilight Shots

I must admit I didn't really know what was considered twilight. With the days getting shorter I have been finding myself feeding right about sunset. Over the last several days I have seen some very beautiful skies after the sun has already set. I was curious if the time frame between sunset and dark had a name and discovered it did...twilight. This one was taken October 15th.

This one and the next photo were taken October 17th. This one is the last of the sunset.

Another fleeting sunset. Taken October 19th.

I loved the clouds with the sliver moon.

I really liked this!

This series of pictures was taken October 20th.

Have a good one!

Things That Make You Go "Awww"

I have the luxury of spending a lot of time with my grandkids throughout the week especially now that they live in my backyard. Even so there are precious moments that I miss because I don't "live" with them.

Thankfully my daughter occasionally will take photos and share (typically on Facebook - which I in turn download to my computer :)

Here are a few of those precious "awww" moments.

Here is the caption that Vanessa put with the photo.

September 19, 2015
Here is my almost 6 year old in a baby bed. We play musical beds here at the Bailey house. Korin was in the living room with me while Kashton and
Kennedy were in their beds. Kashton crawls into Korins bed every night to play before sleeping. While he was playing I suppose Kennedy decided to keep him company. She fell asleep and he crawled back to his bed to go to sleep. So there she was. Just makes me laugh.

Makes me laugh too!

This one of Kashton and Korin was taken September 15, 2015.

Vanessa's caption for this one is:
These kitties love their tiny humans! One of them is always sleeping with one of the kids. 10/14/15

Vanessa got 2 kittens when they were just weaned for Kennedy and Remi. I have been amazed at how these cats let the girls do just about anything with them and are usually sleeping with them. They are so good natured. Ths one is Kennedy's cat. Her name is "Tinkerbell".

I think this one by far is my favorite! Vanessa called it "Every day pearls". In the comments thread she made this statement:

October 16, 2015
I came home last night to this! And then after about 15 min of them being awake this morning I hear "Get off of me! STOP! Get away!" Lol

Why of course you did. They are brother and sister after all!

Have a good one!
