Breakfast. The last trip we took together was in 2019 when we went to Colorado for Worship at Red Rocks.
It isn't a milestone birthday. She turned 37 this year but she is always planning a birthday party for Korin who was born the day after her birthday.
And she's had a lot on her plate of late with homeschooling the two older ones, running the restaurant and running the family household all while Keannon is insurance adjusting in Florida after Hurricane Ian.
The soonest we could get away was last weekend. I booked a Bed & Breakfast at a place just outside Wimberley about an hour South of Austin. It's a town of less than 8,000 people who their downtown is filled with all types of shops, eateries and live entertainment. I was amazed at how many people and cars there were!
Our first stop we made was just an hour and a half down the road in a little town called Hico. I have a scrapbook friend who lives here and works at a well known chocolate factory. I've always wanted to stop when I've been through there but never took the time. Vanessa was game. We didn't go to the factory which was a separate location but we did stop at the candy store. It is called Wiseman House Chocolates. Yes, we both left with chocolate!
We arrive just in time to watch the sunset as we get settled in our room.
The entrance to our room. The "Mill Room".
This is the view from our porch.
Our room.
Another shot of the sunset from ground level.
Once unpacked we drove 10 minutes into Wimberley to eat dinner. We chose one of the recommendations of the Bed & Breakfast which was "Creekhouse".
Vanessa ordered fish tacos.
Live entertainment.
Walking to the truck we saw this sign on one of the buildings.
Great start to a fun-filled weekend.
Have a good one!
