A Little More Sight-Seeing 4-12-2019

Day 2 in Redding was spent all day at the conference with no time for extra curricular activities

Day 3 started with some Turkey fun. Doyle had been up and outside before I got around. He reported there were wild turkeys on the front lawn of the hotel. I had to see for myself!

Sure enough! There was a Tom and some hens.

Come to find out the hotel staff said they are regulars and come almost every morning to feed on the hotel lawn.

The Tom stoically watched over the hens while they ate.

We had a morning session at the conference then we had an option for free time in the afternoon.

Doyle and I opted to do a bit more sight-seeing. I got to come to a conference here in Redding 4 years ago but because I was with other people I didn't have a car to do any sight-seeing.

I wanted to see "Sun Dial Bridge" in Redding. Doyle and I went there first.

It is a beautiful bridge that spans the Sacramento River.

The scenery is beautiful looking from either side of the bridge.

Next we drove to Shasta Dam.

Shasta Lake. Mount Shasta with the snow cap in the distance.

This is an Osprey. A type of hawk. This nest is really high up in the air. This was the best I could do at the angle I was at even with my zoom lens!

A local photographer from Redding has some incredible pictures of this bird inside the information center.

Shasta Dam. It doesn't look that big in this picture but it is! There are tours for the dam but we didn't have time to do that.

A young man from our church came to Redding several years ago to attend Bethel's School of Supernatural Ministry. Once he graduated he stayed in Redding. We have kept in contact with him and visited him while we were there. His name is Josh and the son of missionaries we support in Odessa, Ukraine. He is the manager for this business we are standing in front of. We along with Kirk, Karen, and Michelle met him for dinner one evening.

We had a great time.

Have a good one!
