vacation. They got an amazing deal from a friend of theirs who had a family member that owned this trailer. The spouse died before they were able to use much so it was like brand new. In fact it still smelled new on the inside!
Vanessa had planned for them to go camping at Port Aransas like they did last year. Except this year no friends went with them.
Prior to them going to Port A they took a small trip with the camper for a short float on the river with her brothers Jacob and Josh down South somewhere. I don't remember now 😐
On July 8th the kids headed to the coast for Port A. I'm sure hoping she got more pictures but this is what she has posted so far.
One of their days there they took a ride on the ferry to an island.
While on their trip Kashton was having a bad day. This is what Vanessa put as the caption with this photo.
Some days the behavior is over the top and some days you lose all hope at parenting and you resort to desperate measures....Especially on vacation......Get creative right? Guess who is going to be so worn out they won’t be able to throw a fit?!
She then posted in the comments the following to some of the comments.
And 2 miles in his legs are tired but his mouth sure isn’t.
Driving bbout 5mph sometimes 10.....He hasn’t been alone. I went the first 1.5 miles with him. Dad is taking his turn. We said, “You can scream and throw a fit all you want but you’re done making everyone in the truck suffer.”
FYI, he isn’t actually running. He has walked majority of the time. We aren’t making him run. Lol He told me he hated me though so.....he’s still walking. And he told me he hated me BEFORE we got out of the truck.
And it looks like we have made some progress.
He thinks she is really his “baby” sister. But she weighs like 5lbs less.
God was sure looking out for our kids on their way home from the coast.
Here's Vanessa's story:
Talk about a God send.....3 1/2 hours from home driving 65 on the largest overpass in an area, and this guy drives up beside us waving frantically at us. We pull over and he jumps out of the car and tells Keannon he is a tire guy and that he’s pretty sure he saw a large knot on one of our camper tires. He said it was concerning bc it could cause a blowout and be a serious issue. Keannon thanked him and decided to find the nearest place to take the tire off and look at it since he couldn’t see on the highway that the guy was showing him. Sure enough, this guy might have saved us from a serious incident. No coincidence here. God is looking out for us.
I am very grateful this made intervened!
I think for the most part they had a pretty good trip.
Not part of their vacation but the kids have friends that let them go swimming in their pool so they have been taking full advantage of that opportunity. Last Friday after Keannon got home from work the family went swimming. Vanessa got this cute picture of Korin with her daddy.
Have a good one!
That's great that they got the 5th wheel. We've had ours for 20 years now. It was a good deal used and we've taken very good care of it plus it was the top of the line back then and has held up very well. It is a much cheaper way to go on vacation. Thank goodness the man saw that tire. And I see nothing wrong with the manner they handled Kashton. Kids need to learn somehow that what they are doing isn't fair to others.
