Two nights after the spectacular sunset (June 17th) I witnessed another beautiful sunset.
It stared out very plain but it pays to wait!
Colors are ever so slightly beginning to emerge.
The clouds to the South were reflecting color from the sunset.
Looking back to the West North West. If you look closely you can see the steeple of the church in the bottom right of the photo.
It was quite stunning!
Have a good one!

Spectacular
June 15th I got the opportunity to capture a spectacular sunset.
I was on my way to the horses but took a detour to go by the windmill. I was very glad I did!
I could not quit taking pictures it was so beautiful!
One of this series of pictures will most definitely end up in my annual calendar I give out to friends. I think Mother even commented she wanted an enlargement of one of these. I think I can take care of that!

White on White Card Challenge
The challenge over at Cards in Envy is "White on White". No color is to be used. Black can be used for the image and/or sentiment but everything else is to be white. This was not as hard as I first thought it would be.
I used an embossing folder to create the background. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. Although it doesn't show in the photo, I applied clear Wink of Stella to give the butterflies some sparkle. I stamped the sentiment (a Unity stamp) and punched with a Stampin Up scalloped oval. I did put foam tape behind the sentiment. I bent the wings of the butterflies just to add dimension. They will lay flat for mailing.
I am actually very pleased with how it turned out.
I used black paper for the background to create contrast so you could see the details of the card.
Thanks for taking a look!

Creating Cards
I was needing a "retirement" card for a man I used to work for when I worked at the cable company. I knew he liked to fish. I didn't have any stamps for this but remembered some "digital" stamps I had purchased several years ago. This one is from Doodle Pantry called "Bass Fish". It comes colored and uncolored. I chose to print the colored one to make this card. I dug around in my button stash and found these fish buttons that worked perfectly!
This card is very similar to a card I entered in the Cards in Envy Challenge. I just changed the background paper. I made this card for a man in our church that is recovering from shoulder surgery.
I made this for no one in particular. I just wanted to make it. This is a new stamp from Unity that is part of a new monthly subscription called "Uniquely Unity". This stamp set is called."A Daisy and a Lady".
I stamped the daisy several times then the one in the center I cut out and put foam tape under for dimension. I also colored with a copic marker then covered with clear Wink of Stella. I put glossy accents on the lady bug.
I made this card for my Dad for Father's Day.
I made this card for Keannon. He's been playing more golf so I thought this would work for him. This is a digital image from Digi Doodle Shop called "Streak of Genius". I colored it with colored pencils. The sentiment is from a "Just Rite" stamp set.
Have a good one.

Evening Beauty 6-14-2017
After church last Wednesday night (June 14, 2017) I was greeted with beautiful colors in the sky!
Perfect timing! This is what I saw coming out of the church.
I jump in my truck and find a couple of places to capture this beautiful sky.
I still had some time so I went to my spot for the Baker Hotel. Oh my! The sky was so beautiful!
Do you notice how the reflection of the sunset makes it look like there are lights on in the hotel?
These pictures just don't do the colors justice. It was breath taking!

More Baby Birds and Sunset 6-12-2017
We discovered more baby birds in an existing nest. There were obviously two different sets of eggs
as the other babies had left the nest some time ago.
I kept hearing them but couldn't see them. On June 12th after I had gone to work, Doyle said he found a baby that appeared to have fallen from the nest.
One of my bird friends told me birds don't smell so it wouldn't hurt to put the baby back in the nest which Doyle did.
When I got home later I got out the camera hoping to see the parents feeding the birds but only saw a couple of the babies.
It was pretty warm outside so after watching for a while Doyle and I both went in the house.
We came out later in the evening and discovered two babies had left the nest. One was next to the porch in my flower bed.
The other was in the bush right in front of the porch just above where the other baby was. We don't know where the third one went.
Not the most colorful sunset but pretty all the same with the rays.
I left the horses and decided to swing by where I sometimes take pictures of the Baker Hotel.
I like this with the hint of rays.
Have a good one!

Kids Go On Vacation
Remi is here for her first three week visit. Kennedy is a year younger than Remi and has already outgrown her! This was taken on June 6th.
I got to see them for a little while on Friday June 9th. Keannon was preparing for the family to go on vacation and the girls came with him.
Remi, as she usually does, wanted to go to my craft room and create.
The kids left on Saturday for a week to Port Aransas by Corpus Christi. We gave them a State Park Pass for Christmas and they used it to stay at the state park there. Another family went with them and they had a great time. All these pictures were taken by Vanessa.
The Bailey Bunch minus one. I'm guessing Korin was asleep.
Vanessa's caption "Paradise, right?!"
Walking the pier.
I love this picture.
They had some issues with the seagulls trying to eat all their food! It looked like the "attack of the birds"!
Vanessa had shirts made for everyone. This is Keannon and Ryan. Don't they look thrilled?! The shirts say "wrong turns and sunburns". Ryan really is laid back guy and went along with it.
Ryan works for the Fire Department so Doyle knows him.
Shaina and Vanessa. Their shirts say "good times and tan lines."
Vanessa said a nice lady took their picture so they could all be in it.
The kids quickly learned about these things. Everyone of them got stung. Remi got the worst of it.
Vanessa's caption "Life's a beach, enjoy the waves."
Mommy and Korin.
Vanessa's caption "Baby's first beach trip, earth side."
Ryan, Shaina and one of their sons Rayden.
Ryan with both boys, Rayden and Reese.
Remi, Kennedy and Rayden.
Vanessa at their camper.
She took more pictures but these were what was on Facebook.
They came home Friday (June 15th) afternoon. They had a good time.
Have a good one!
