Tuesday, February 23rd we fly to Colorado for a family vacation. This was a big deal as it was the
first time Doyle and I had taken vacation outside of Texas since 2007! And it was the first time ever for Keannon, Vanessa and kids, Mom, Doyle and I to take a trip together.
Vanessa had been wanting to go see her best friend that had moved there in 2014. My brother also moved to Colorado August last year. Vanessa found a heck of a deal on airfare to Colorado and asked if we would like to go.
Vanessa's friends live about 2 hrs West of Denver in Dillon the heart of ski country. My brother lives about 30 minutes outside of Denver.
I love how the clouds look like snow.
The view from Denver Airport from our rental car. You can see the mountains in the distance.
Headed to the mountains!
Deeper into the mountains. They had gotten snow over night and the roads were wet and slushy so it got very difficult to take pictures out of the window. I was disappointed as the drive through the mountains was beautiful and there wasn't really any place to pull off the road.
We arrive at our destination, get unpacked then head to a place to eat lunch.
The view from our accommodations. Picture perfect except for the power lines!
Mine and Doyle's flight was at 7:30am. Keannon and Vanessa's was earlier than that! Needless to say we were all pretty tired when we arrived. I was a little chilled went upstairs and laid in the floor where the sun was shining through this same window I took this picture through. Kennedy came up and asked what I was doing. She then laid down and was soon out! Korin is trying to get her sister awake.
Kashton couldn't get in the snow soon enough! Once Vanessa told him there would be snow where we were going that was all he could talk about and all he wanted to do!
Here you have a better idea of how deep the snow is. Part of the yard was cleared for dogs.
Korin getting a little snow action.
More in a later post!
Have a good one!
Looks like a fun vacation and how wonderful you all got to go together but it looks cold! Ha, ha.
ReplyDeleteIt really wasn't bad except in the mornings. It warmed to the mid 30's with sunshine.
