Adam Hull 3-16-2019

During Spring break I got the opportunity to listen to my guitar teacher perform at Coffee & Cocktails part of The Market at 76067 where I sell my cards. Not sure if he planned it or not I never got to ask but he played a song I had never heard that had my name in it. Made me feel special!

Hawk 3-4-2019

On the way home from feeding, I spied this hawk eating a dead cat. The hawk didn't kill the cat. It was killed a couple of days ago I think by a car since it was in the road. Someone moved it to the grassy area off the road.

I quickly pulled off the road to a parking area across the street next to a park to snap a few pictures.

I put on my zoom lens and began taking pictures as soon as I got out of the truck then kept taking pictures walking toward the hawk to see how close I could get without causing the bird to take flight.

Getting closer

Closer still! This hawk seemed not the least bothered by my closeness.

I hated that the cat was part of the background. It was a bit unnerving too as this cat looked alot like our cat Abercrombie that passed away a few years ago.

I was thrilled to have this opportunity.

Keeping "The Littles" 3-2 and 3-3

When talking about Kashton and Korin, Vanessa refers to them as "The Littles".  For Kennedy's birthday Vanessa bought tickets to a concert of a young, upcoming country artist by the name of Kane Brown that Kennedy really likes. Vanessa had planned a weekend trip to the nearest concert site which was in Bossier City, Louisiana (March 2-3).

Kashton and Korin would stay with us on Saturday and Sunday night. Neither of them had ever stayed that long. Usually just an overnight. They were so excited.

The weather that weekend was the coldest we had all winter which meant no outdoor play. We played several games and watched some TV. To change things up a bit I thought we would make cookies.

We made Snickerdoodles.

Both kids enjoyed helping with this task!

Kashton is our "lefty" in the family.

Korin putting cookies on the baking sheet.

Kashton was pretty proud of his work!

Kashton doing the finishing touches on the cookies before putting them in the oven.

On Sunday night I made "He-Man" soup. It's very hearty with lots of potatoes, carrots and ground beef. I usually fix cornbread with it. Kashton didn't know what cornbread was! So I let him help me make that and he asked to lick the bowl. Seems he likes it too!

Of course they had the cookies they made for dessert!

After dinner they got ready for bed and we played a matching game. Kashton is counting all the matches he got! He's really good at this game.

Korin and I get a selfie!

Me and Kashton!

And one of all of us!

The kids did really well. We had a great time and made some great memories.

Sunsets 1-7 and 1-10

January 7th I loved how the sun was reflecting off the dry grass. I still didn't quite capture what I saw but it was pretty.

I just love taking pictures of the sunset through this tree without leaves.

I manage to capture a little sliver of the moon in this one.

On January 10th the sky was very diverse. Depending on what direction you looked the view was different. Here the sky looks like fire.

Looking just a little to the North of the sunset were these blue and pink clouds.

Pierced Ears for Korin 1-10-2019

Korin is 4. She has been asking to get her ears pierced.

Preparing to do both ears at the same time.

and the waterworks begin.

Korin has thick lobes so it was probably a little more painful.

It didn't take very long for her to calm down and she was soon showing them off to everyone.

Her earlobes are really red! She was a trooper!

A Little Gem 1-6-2019

Feeding horses January 6th, I was walking to the hay barn when I saw color out of the corner of my eye. When I looked I was wowed!

I hurried to the truck to get my camera. Hoping the color would last just long enough for a picture. It did 😌.

Another little "gem" that day was watching my daughter sleep. Even as a young wife and mother....she is still my little girl and well...this moment was priceless 😍

Last Day with Remi 1-5-2019

Wow! What happened to January?! And February is halfway over! I apologize for being MIA. I really didn't realize it had been so long since I had blogged. I also thought I had already posted this but it was still in draft mode!

I guess card making has consumed more time that I was aware! More about that later. For now lets get on with the story.

It was the end of Remi's Christmas break with us. She went home on Sunday January 6th. It was a very early flight so Granddad and I went over the day before to spend some time with her and the other grands. It was a beautiful day for January. We've actually had a fairly mild winter.

One of the best investments Keannon and Vanessa made was this tree swing. The kids absolutely love it!

Remi decided to be the "pusher".

Kennedy wanted Remi to spin her. This almost made me motion sick just watching! I don't know how she could stand the swing spinning so fast!

Remi wanted her turn so Daddy pushed her in the swing.

Then Kashton wanted to swing with Remi.

We had a great time while Remi was here. We won't get to see her again until Spring Break which for her is the last of March. It will be here before we know it!

Have a good one!
