Mom started Kennedy's birthday off with getting her a breakfast sandwich and a drink from Starbucks on the way to school.
I took her food at lunch. I said "Let me get a picture. She said "No". "Come on" I coaxed, "do it for Savtah". Again she says "no". I say firmly "I didn't ask. I'm taking a picture". This is the look I got. 😏 It could have been worse. I'll take what I got!
I later said "Can I have a picture with you". She asked one of her friends to take it. (teenagers!) 😉
Later that evening she and several friends along with Mom and Dad go to dinner. After dinner Mom sends Kennedy on a treasure hunt with clues taking her to several locations with the final clue leading to her "surprise" at a warehouse. (The surprise is a car!)
Mom and Dad searched for months when they finally found what Kennedy wanted and purchased it 2 months before her birthday. They hid it in a warehouse of some friends. This picture was taken the day they bought it and brought it by to show us. (October 18th). It was so hard to keep the secret for 2 months. Keannon almost blew it when he left the keys for it in his truck and Kennedy found them! She called me and asked if mom and dad had bought her a car. I LIED THROUGH MY TEETH and Kennedy believed me! The kids had a Toyota Camry that was in the shop for repair and Keannon told Kennedy he picked up someone's keys by accident. They traded the Camry for the 4 Runner but told the kids the shop was hassling with the insurance company on repairs.
Friends and family hide in the warehouse and wait for Kennedy to arrive. The video is black in the beginning and you can faintly hear voices of the girls outside the warehouse.
I'm thrilled I was able to catch Kennedy's reaction! Priceless!

Kenny Lou is a nickname that her friend Legend's Dad calls her. He's the only one who calls her that but she loves it and wanted license plates with that on it. (it will be easy to know when you see Kennedy's car if you see the plates!)
She made mention at lunch with her that she thought when she got home Mom and Dad would put a bow on the Camry and have it parked in the driveway. It was all I could do to keep a straight face when she said it!
