Kennedy Rides the Whole Loop

February 17th I planned to ride at the State Park by myself. I had come home from work and
Kennedy came over as soon as she was aware I was home. She has learned to look to see if my truck is in the driveway!

I tried not to say anything but she's a smart cookie and when she saw me grab my boots to put on she knew what I was going to do. She asked "Are you going riding?" Well, I couldn't lie. I answer "yes".  And as I expected she quickly says "I want to go with you." I don't mind her going with me but the last time we went she didn't ride very far and I really wanted to ride.

She was wearing shorts and flip flops and I told her she couldn't go like that. That she would need some jeans and boots. Well it didn't take her long to get changed and off we go to catch our steeds!

I love this picture even though I caught her with her eyes closed.

Here she's leading Fancy.

Here we are on the trail.

Well, she surprised me! She rode the whole 8 mile loop without complaining! It took about 2 hours. I asked her if she had fun and if she would do it again and she said yes! I would call that a success!

Have a good one!

Tuesday Night Sky

As I was feeding horses February 16, I got to enjoy the changing colors of the evening sky. Looking to the east was the moon and some pink clouds just above the tree line.

To the West was the setting sun.

Looking to the South, more pink clouds.

Looked like fire in the sky!

Kashton Rolling Down Hill

February 14, 2016. We were at Kennedy's cheer competition. Kash had been couped up inside all afternoon. I needed to get out myself so I took him outside and we found an embankment for him to climb. He had never "rolled" down a hill so I showed him how. His form is a little crude but he has a blast and keeps doing it after this first time!

"Sweet Heart Classic" Cheer Competition

Kennedy had cheer competition on Valentine's Day in Denton. Unlike her other competitions her team wasn't scheduled to compete until 3pm. It is a 2 hour drive and we had to be there at 2pm. I left church early and came home to help Vanessa get the kids ready to go. We took Kashton and left Korin with my Mother.
I hadn't been able to go to her competitions until this one. Vanessa said this one was twice as big as Kennedy's previous competitions.

The trophies were on either side of the above banner.

All ready for the competition. We had a long wait. Kennedy's team didn't compete until 5! Made for a very l-o-n-g day.

Kennedy's buddy Kimber.

Now this is one guy who is very secure in his manhood! In between some of the competitions they had "Spirit Awards". He is encouraging the teams to show their spirit!

watching the action.

Here they come!

Kennedy is the last of the girls to come out and is on the the tall girl's left.

Waiting to start.

The coach telling them what a good job they did!

After their routine they had to wait for the remaining teams to perform and then wait for scoring.

The team got jackets from the last competition they attended.

There were 5 teams in Kennedy's division and they won 2nd place.  She gets to go to state competition in San Antonio March 5th.

Have a good one!

What Do You See?

As I arrived to feed horses Thursday morning February 11, 2016 I noticed a cloud. I've seen shapes of clouds before but for some reason this one made me take a second glance and my first thought was "it looks like an angel". I'm sure others might see something else but that's what I saw. Especially since I've been asking God of late to allow me to see into the supernatural realm. I just know it blessed my heart to see it and impressed me enough to take a photo of it.

Three days prior to this I had another unusual happening. I was walking to the barn where I feed horses and right in the middle of the path was this! Click on the picture for a closer look but it's a $20 dollar bill! Folded in half and just laying in the dirt surrounded by hoof prints! It wasn't there when I feed the night before. It was as if someone had just "placed" it there! I couldn't believe my eyes and so I took a picture before I even picked it up! Talk about blessed! I actually needed it too!

Keep your eyes open! You never know how or when Papa God might surprise you!

Beautiful Winter Day

Wednesday February 10, 2016 it ended up being 75 degrees! Kennedy wanted to go to the cemetery and feed the ducks.

After feeding the ducks we walked around to the other side of the pond.

When then went to the sunken rose garden. Kennedy loves this Sundial.

Showing her form!

We had a great time!

Horse Cards

Even though I missed the Card's in Envy's first card challenge of the year I did make some cards. I needed a sympathy card and a birthday card.

This is a sympathy card I made for a scrapbooking friend whose son died. The image is my beloved Phyllis Harris design by Unity Stamp Company. I colored with my Copic Markers.

This is the birthday card I made using another Phyllis Harris design by Unity Stamp Company.

I just realized I colored both horses the same!

Interpretation Please!

February 6, 2016, Kashton was jabbering about an "honcorn". I had no idea what he was talking about. I finally showed the video to Vanessa who interpreted. He is talking about a Longhorn!  Where they used to live there was a pasture that had a Longhorn in it. Vanessa took him by there to say "hi" to the Longhorn.

From the Heart Card Challenge

Once again time got away from me and I missed the first card challenge of the year at Card's in Envy!
The challenge this time is "From the Heart" which can be love and/or Valentine's.

This is my card.

The background I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder of hearts. The large heart I cut out of glitter paper using a Stampin Up heart punch. The sentiment I used glitter glue to fill in the letters and heart. I put foam tape behind the heart and the sentiment to give dimension.

Simple but I'm pleased!

Sisters

We have been taking advantage of our warm winter days by jumping on the trampoline.

Korin eating one of the cookies Kennedy made.

Kennedy's wild and crazy hair!

Although not big enough to jump with the bigger kids Korin still wants to be in on the action!

Saturday with the Grands

After going to feed horses Saturday January 30th, I came home to the grands at my house. Not an unusual occurrence now that they live in our backyard!

I made breakfast for everyone....that is everyone but Keannon who was on the job out of town.

Later that day I had a baby shower to attend. The mom-to-be is the daughter of a former neighbor. She and Vanessa are the same age. She is expecting twin boys. I used a horse and foal stamp and stamped another foal representing a twin. Clever even if I do say so myself :)

Vanessa and Kennedy also went to the shower. Vanessa had to leave early to go to work. Kennedy stayed with me.

After the shower Kennedy wanted to get a sno-cone. It was a warm day and the sno-cone stand was open that day. So...of course I said okay! She got a "rainbow".

After supper Kennedy wanted to make cookies. She is making "snickerdoodles" and doing a great job!

Rolling the top of the cookie ball in the cinnamon/sugar mixture.

And these cookies were made with whole wheat flour!

Proud of her handy-work!

Eating the fruits of her labor! YUM!
