Couple of Cards

On October 12th I made a card to send to Remi. I have had this stamp for a while but this was the first time I used it. This is a Phyllis Harris design made into a stamp by Unity Stamp Company. I love their stamps and this artist is my favorite!

The design paper is Little Yellow Bicycle. Scraps left over from a layout I made some time ago.

The image I colored with my Copic Markers. I put glossy accents on the individual leaves to give more interest.

This card I made October 15th. It was for my sister-in-law Doris whose birthday was the next day.
Ya, it was late :( but I sent it anyway. This was the first time I used this stamp too. I really like it and I like how the card turned out! The paper I used was again scrap from another project. I colored the image with my Copic Markers and again used a little glossy accents to enhance the flower. I liked this card so much I duplicated it   and sent it to my Step-Mom for her birthday on October 22nd.

I need to carve out some time to do some more pages for the grandkids books!

Have a good one!

The Next Adele?

October 11th I found out Kennedy likes Adele songs. Granddad fixed her up with headphones so she could sing along. It was humorous in the beginning because she doesn't know the words to the verses so she mumbles through it but when it gets to the chorus she really belts it and did pretty good. Just one part where she was off key.

Critters

I found a Praying Mantis on the gate in the barn October 10th. He was upside down.

Then on October 13th I saw this unusual bug.

I just never know what I'm going to encounter! Keeps it interesting :)

Volleyball 10-08-2016

This is a short slip of Kennedy getting to serve 4 times! Her team did really good !

The girls play 3 matches and the team who wins 2 of the 3 wins the game. I believe this score is the one where Kennedy made her 4 serves.

Vanessa had taken the kids to the Crazy Water Festival before the volleyball game and Kennedy had her face painted.

Click here to see a short clip of Kennedy making the game winning serve.

Vanessa and Korin having a "moment" during Kennedy's game.

Kashton went to a friend's birthday party and had blue cupcakes. Can you tell?

Sunset October 6, 2016

I enjoyed watching the sky while I fed horses Thursday night October 6th. I had almost waited to late to see it. This was my view of the sky driving east across town to the horses.

There wasn't a lot of color but what there was, was beautiful! That little white spot is the moon.

Here is another view of looking to the east. This phenomenon is fascinating to me. I don't know why in all my years I've never noticed it before. And now that I have it seems I see it all the time!

As I make my way to the barn I feed the horses in I spot something just outside of their pasture. It's black & white and moving. A closer look I can see it's a skunk! I tried to get a picture of it before it noticed me but the auto setting on my camera focused on the fence and not the skunk! The horses were following me into the barn and once the skunk heard the sound of their feet on the concrete he scampered off. Which was a good thing! This picture I took from inside Fancy's stall.

Back to the sunset.

The color is fading as I take one last picture.

Have a good one!

Homecoming

Friday October 6th, Kennedy's cheer squad had a float in Mineral Wells Homecoming parade. We strategized with Vanessa where we would go to watch the parade and Vanessa gave Kennedy instructions on which side of the float to be on.

As the float approaches Vanessa doesn't see Kennedy (as she was supposed to be wearing a wig) and tells me she must be on the other side. (This is the wig she was supposed to be wearing.)

I hurriedly cross the street right in front of the float Kennedy is on to be in position to take pictures only to find that she was on the otherside! She wasn't wearing the wig! Grandparent fail!

Granddad tried to quickly take a couple of pictures with his phone while also helping Vanessa wrangle the other two grands!

You will have to click to enlarge the photo to see her but she is waving. Their float theme was Willy Wonka.

In this pictures she is throwing out candy. This is thanks to one of my Facebook friends.

All is good :)

Have a good one!

A Few Cards

I haven't totally fallen off the craft wagon! I made cards for Korin and Vanessa's birthdays and forgot to include them in those posts!

This card I made for Korin. This image reminded me of her.

I had fun making this card. It is a little bigger than the standard card size but I did that to accommodate the image. This is a Julie Nutting doll stamp. I stamped the image on white card stock and cut her out. Then stamped again and paper pieced her outfit. I used my Copic Markers to color her hair and skin. For her shoes I used a red pearl pen. The sentiment is from a Unity stamp set. I used foam tape on the girl and on the sentiment for dimension.

This card I made for a friend who is going through a difficult time to offer some encouragement.

I made this card for my brother's 50th birthday! I can't believe he turned 50 this year! Since it was from me I thought the girl on a horse was perfect! I created my sentiment by using alpha letters from Just Rite. I didn't realize it but I got ink on the block the letters were on and that got on my card creating lines :( oh well. I wasn't going to make it again.
