Korin Plays Soccer 10-03-2020

It was a busy day Saturday October 3rd. Korin had a soccer game at 10am. Kashton had team pictures in Weatherford at 11:15am and game at 12:30.  Kennedy had team pictures at 11:45 in Mineral Wells and game at 12:10. Needless to say I helped Vanessa get the girls where they needed to go.

Here is a short clip of Korin playing soccer. She is #3.

Good kick!

She has the ball. She didn't appear to me that she was very competitive.

She unfortunately did not get a goal.

Time out for a shoe tie.

She got to play goalie for a bit.

I asked her if she like playing goalie. She said yes because she didn't have to run!

Korin caught me and provided me with a smile.

I will share about Kennedy's game in another blog.

Have a good one!

Korin's 6th Birthday 9-26-2020

Korin turned 6 on September 26th. Vanessa was hoping to be in their house for her party but that did not happen. Plan B was to have the party at Norma's Playhouse. A big indoor playground.

There was another little girl having a birthday party that day that Korin was invited to so Korin's party was at 10AM.

A lady handmade these cookies!

Opening the card and gift from us.

this is the card I made her.

Korin had a great birthday! We extended the celebration to Sunday when I fixed her favorite meal...macaroni and cheese with Polish Kabalsa sausage for lunch.

Keannon has taken up insurance adjusting again. He has already been to Iowa where the derecho storm blew through and was there 3 weeks. He left Sunday morning to go to Alabama to write claims from hurricane damage. Not sure when we will see him next!

Have a good one!

Riding Horses with Kennedy and Vanessa BD 9-25-2020

It was great weather to ride. We were going to ride at the State Park but discovered the trailer had a flat. Upon closer inspection the tire wouldn't hold air. We had to scratch our location but we didn't give up on riding! We just rode in the area close to the horses.

Kennedy sits the horse well!

Although it wasn't hot...the horses did work up a sweat. Fancy getting a good rub in.

Diamond was next!

She was surprised by the cake. It was brought out by her friend and co-owner of the business.

Thirty-five isn't too bad 😉

Pictures weren't the best but you get the idea!

They continued celebrating at some friends house.

It was a fun evening.

Have a good one

Climbing 9-17-2020

Kashton wanted to ride bikes at the cemetery. Korin wanted to go also but she hasn't learned how to ride without training wheels yet and thought it was too far for her to ride so I loaded the bikes in the truck and we drove to the cemetery. I parked at the gate. We rode our bikes back to the truck. While I was loading the bikes they chose to climb on the entrance. Korin wanted me to video so her Mom could see.

the side of the entrance where she climbed up.

They were pretty proud of themselves!

Kashton Plays Soccer 9-19-2020

As you know, sports is a bit weird in this season of Covid. The soccer association here was pretty wishy-washy. Instead of waiting on them to decide what they were going to do Vanessa signed Kashton up for soccer in the neighoring city of Weatherford (20 miles East).

I didn't make the first soccer game but did the next which was September 19th.

Kashton really likes soccer. His coach says he's a real natural.

Kashton getting a drink while mom gives him a pep talk.

Kashton got one goal during this game. It was just as we got there so I didn't get a picture. His last game he scored 2 of the 4 goals.

I did not get any video footage in this game but hope to the next one.

Such a handsome little guy well, not so little.

This is what you do when you're bored waiting for things to get moving again. (it wasn't long either 😉)

Another break.

Coach encouraging his team.

Walk back to the car after the game.

Have a good one!

Progress on House

Progress is being made on the restoration of the kids house. These photos were taken at the end of August.

This is what it looked like before the fire. This picture was taken when they bought the house in 2017.

It's obviously not the same angle but I think you can tell that the roof pitch is different.

The back of the house looks very different.

This is the back when they bought the house in 2017.

The insulation has been blown.

Kennedy and I went over to their house on September 29th.

The sheet rock is up, tape and bedding done and painting taking place.

This is Kennedy in the doorway of Korin's room.

Do you recognize this area? The little step up and doorway to the right should be a clue.

We are looking through the dinning area toward the kitchen. The fireplace is gone (it was on the right). The door way leads into a space that they used for Keannon's office as well as the hallway to the bedrooms.

This is an addition. Vanessa now has a laundry room! It used to be in the garage. The opening in the wall is for a doggie door. This will open into a dog crate that will be under a table for folding laundry. The area next to the doggie door is a dog wash. The washer/dryer will be to the left of the dog wash.

New front door and larger porch area.

Side view looking toward the front door to show the woodwork.

Vanessa's goal is to be in the house by the 1st of November. She says they will be in the house even if they have to sleep on the floor! Cabinets being built will be delivered in a few days. It has been a really long journey but it will be so nice when it's done!

Have a good one!
