I'm not sure when it started but Kashton is interested in bull riding. I know Vanessa had gotten him the movie of Lane Frost's life for Christmas. I think it was called 8 seconds.
Evidently Jacob has connections with a bull rider named "Hank the Yank" and made arrangements for Kashton to meet him. Here is the posts from Facebook.
Kashton with "Hank the Yank".
Personally, I hope he loses interest. I don't know that this grandmother can stand to watch him!
This guy was a real class act. Here's what Vanessa's brother had to say about this.
June 3rd Hank the Yank was riding bulls in a near by small community called Santo. Uncle Jake took Kashton to watch him ride.
Kashton is 2nd from the right (or 3rd from the left).
Kashton sitting on the fence with Hank.
What you don't see is that Hank's hand got caught in the rope. Not sure if he made the 8 seconds. Vanessa had messaged us to pray as she said Kennedy text her to say "he got pretty tore up by the bull and they carried Hank out of the arena." Fortunately, he was seriously hurt.
Here are posts from Facebook from Hank, Vanessa and some comments.
I don't know if I could do that if I were his mom! He's still young. A lot can change between now and then.
I've since been following Hank. I've learned he grew up on a small farm in upstate New York. Which explains his handle "Hank the Yank". He now resides in Texas. Hank is a US Marine Veteran. He became a bull rider while serving in the Marine Corps. He has his eyes set on making it to the National Finals one day. He's also been a firefighter in New York. He moved to Texas in 2018 for bull riding. He worked on many ranches across Texas landing at Coalson Ranch in Parker County (county next to us) where he met Joe Wimberly who became Hank's mentor. He has three World Final Titles with the Professional Armed Forces Rodeo Association. 2019 Top 10 Bull Rider (#7) 2021 Top 10 Bull Rider (#8) 2022 Top 10 Bull Rider (#4)
He's taken a liking to Kashton. He made a post a couple of days after meeting Kashton.
So..... stay tuned. I think you may be hearing more about this cowboy and his relationship with my grandson!
Have a good one!
