Day 2 Ice Storm 2013

It was a cold morning on day two of our Ice Storm. The two alerts were a Winter Storm Warning and a Hard Freeze Warning.

Despite the sleet many people tried to drive on the roads making them even slicker.

It was too cold and nasty to go anywhere you didn't have to and I didn't!

Gracie enjoying having the bed all to herself. Must be nice to be a dog! Especially in my house!

I took advantage of being "iced in" so to speak by spending time in my craft room. I made a few cards.

This is a Phyllis Harris design sold by Unity Stamp Co. This is a huge stamp so it doesn't leave much room for embellishing on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card. I colored the image using my Copic Markers. For some dimension I used Liquid Pearls on the sheep. I won't mass produce this card but I probably will make a few more.

I used an embossing folder for the background of this card. The stamp set is "The Sounding Joy" from Stampin Up. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Barn Door to stamp the star and heat embossed "Let Earth Receive Her King" with silver.

The only difference in these two cards is the ribbon and embossing powder. I used gold on this one. I wasn't sure which one I liked better.

End of day 2. More to come

Have a good one!

  1. Your cards are awesome and the doggie photo is too funny! It was very cold that's for sure!
