Snow in Texas! 1-10-2021

For those of you who live in places where it snows often this post will probably be boring to you. It doesn't snow very often here and when it does EVERYONE gets excited.

We got to finish 2020 with snow! I thought it was a great way to end a very difficult year! About 9:30 PM New Year's Eve brought a very short-lived snow. Enough to cover the grass but was gone by morning.

Then we got another snow January 10th. We are very fortunate that the temperature stayed above freezing as we received lots of snow but almost all of it was gone by the next day.

Watch here for a short video clip as the snow started. Here is another short clip at the horses.

It started snowing about 8:30AM on Sunday. I got ready for church and went to feed horses.

The snow was beginning to cover the roads. This is the driveway to the horse barn.

In anticipation of the weather, I blanketed the horses the night before.

I fed the barn cats then headed to the other barn to feed the horses.

Its so pretty.

Diamond still had some snow flakes on his head.

This is the property that is next to where the horses are. The barn is to my right. Looks like a winder wonderland.

This is also a view of the other property.

The best part of this snow event was while I was in church. The snow was melting quickly. What is even stranger is that South of us the snow was heavier and they had more accumulation.

Except for those who made snowmen, the snow was all melted by the next day. It was fun while it lasted!

Have a good one!

  1. Hi Valerie, I love your pictures of the pretty snow. We hardly ever see it here in the capital city of South Carolina, but that doesn't bother me. If it does come, I would much prefer it melt quickly! My favorite pictures, though, are of the barn cats, and of Diamond with snow still on his head. xoxo
