Conversation with a Three Year Old

August 19, 2016,  Kashton didn't eat very well at dinner time. No surprise that right before bed he is hungry. Mom said he could have what we had for dinner so I warm it up for him and sit with him while he ate. Thought you would enjoy our interesting conversation!

This is Korin at dinner. She loves baby dolls of all kinds. She found Kennedy's American Doll and brought her to dinner!

After supper I enjoyed some pretty clouds and a
sunset!

The color begins to emerge.

Have a good one!

Stunning Sky

After the downpour me and the kids got caught in, the clouds cleared producing a colorful sunset in the West and a pretty rainbow to the East.

I couldn't resist taking a shadow picture while I want for the sun to set.

I turned around as sometimes the clouds opposite of the sunset are colorful too and too my delight I saw this!

Kennedy wanted me to take of picture of her with the sunset in the background.

It was fun to watch and photograph! Just beautiful!

Have a good one!

Caught in the Rain

On August 18th it was cloudy and threatening to rain all day. Kennedy wanted to ride bikes. We started out just riding around a block or two then I suggested we ride to the trail downtown. It's about a mile from my house to the trail. Kashton had seen us riding and wanted to go. I  checked the radar on my phone and it appeared that although rain was out there it didn't appear to be heading toward us for a while so I said "lets go".

We surprised Grammer by stopping for a quick visit since we were riding right by her house. Plus Kennedy needed a "potty break"! It started sprinkling there but we went on.

Arriving at the trailhead. Look at the determination on Kashton's face!

Kashton loved the caboose!

It started sprinkling harder and Kashton was ready to find cover.

I really figured it would rain then go on past so we could just wait it out.

Then it began to rain harder.

It's really coming down now

and the wind picked up. We had to move to the other side of the shelter to keep from getting wet!

The kids were ready for me to call Granddad. I did and he came and rescued us...again!

Well, my radar let me down :( Guess I should have checked with Doyle first. Oh well it was quite the adventure!

Have a good one!

Fresh Fried Catfish Anyone?

I think I mentioned that after spending a weekend at Hubbard Creek Lake that our hostess sent
several bags of fish home with some of us. I got one of those bags and decided to fix it.

Kennedy wanted to help. She did a good job. Frying catfish is messy but it sure was good!

I had actually never fried fish before!

We had enough fish that Keannon and I ate leftovers for the next couple of days!

Have a good one!

Horse Silhouette

Even though the temps have moderated I am still feeding around sunset. Mostly so I can watch them :)

These were taken on August 15th. These pictures would have been better had I had my digital camera but didn't grab it. I try not to leave it in my truck in the heat so sometimes I forget to grab it when heading out the door. I love the color in the cloud.

I could see what I call the "star burst" effect.

Then I got an idea.

I wanted for the horses to come up where I put out hay then took pictures with the "starburst" as the background. I loved it!

This is Diamond and Fancy. Clyde hadn't come up yet. I was pleased with my results.

I Love You

This was taken August 15th. Doyle had been working with Korin on "hello" and "I love you". She was not cooperating with "hello". She is so cute!

Church Swim Party

Our church hosted a swim party on Saturday August 13th. We barely got this accomplished as this was the last day the pool was open!

Either no one else wanted to do it or no one thought to do it but I didn't see anyone taking pictures! So I did :)

I was proud of Mom. She came even though she didn't swim. I am very glad she was there as all three grandkids came. Karen, Keannon's mom had Korin and I had the other two but it took all three of us to keep up with them! I'm surprised I got any pictures at all. Well, Keannon's sister Karissa was there too and she helped as well.

Aunt Karissa with Kashton at the kiddie pool.

The water is very shallow here.

Kennedy and her cousin Krystal (Karissa's daughter).

Kennedy found some goggles that got left behind.

Aunt Rissa helping Kashton float.

Our Pastor's son and Associate Pastor was our grill master.

We even had an impromptu Baptism. One of Karissa's boys (Kyler) told Pastor Kirk that there was all this water so why couldn't he get baptized right then. So it happened! Right there! I got a video of it but the voices are a bit hard to hear because of the sound of water running. Thank goodness Pastor Kirk talks loud! You can watch the baptism here.

As the party was wrapping up the sky was showing color.

I thought the moon over the swimming pool look cool.

It wasn't as large a turn out as we usually have be we had a good time!

Have a good one!

What's Wrong with this picture?

Seems to me that Kashton should be pushing Korin but she seems to enjoying pushing her brother! She will be 23 months on August 25th. This video was taken on August 11th.

She refers to Kashton as "Kashy" and loves to play with him! She may end up being the "tomboy" of the family because everything he does...she wants to do!

I took a short video clip of her "talking" on the phone. Mostly saying "hello". You can see that here

They are a pair! Have a good one!

Beautiful Butterfly

I spied this little beauty Wednesday morning August 10th while feeding horses. I didn't have my big camera only my phone. I really didn't think I would be able to get very close.

However, I was pleasantly surprised!

It got the hottest it's been this summer on this day!

Thankfully the temps have dropped dramatically and we are now enjoying was pre-fall like temps (80's) and we have received some much needed rain!

Have a good one!

Day Two of Swimming

August 8th, our last day to swim at our friends before they arrive home that evening.

The fish ring that Kashton has on his head are for throwing in the water and going to find. I thought it humorous that he put it on his head!

I just love this picture! Jumping and squirting the water gun!

Jumping in all together!

A little beauty landed on the strap of some abandoned goggles.

Some Thunder heads were growing in the distance with a hawk enjoying the winds.

Remi doing a little splashing!

Tried to get a shot of the hawk again. Looks like it has something.

It was hard to get pictures while it was flying. These aren't sharply focused but it was fun trying.

Have a good one!
