English Sparrows 5-8-2017

Not all of the bird babies were at the barn this year. I had some right under my nose!

You might have to click on the picture to see the babies under the eave of the house.

Look close as you look at the photos and you will notice that there are two different birds feeding the babies. I don't know much about birds so correct me if I'm wrong but it appears that a mom and dad are feeding the babies.

See one of the babies is getting brave enough to stick it's head out.

Different bird feeding the hungry munchkins!

While I was waiting for the parent birds to return with more food I caught a glimpse of a couple of
large birds fly high overhead. Typically they are vultures but I saw something that made me think were something different and I was right.

I'm not 100% sure but I think these are Mississippi Kite Hawks.

To give you an idea how high they were flying, these pictures were taken with my 300mm zoom fully extended!

It was still pretty cool to see!

Have a good one!

  1. Great photos! And yes, I've observed different bird species where the mama and daddy take turns feeding the babies.
