Ashley's First Ride at the State Park 5-22-2017

Ashley got a new job but we managed to find a day we could go ride. This was her first time to ride the equestrian trail at the park.

I love riding the park this time of year. It is so beautiful! So green and lush. Several places on the trail are covered with a canopy of trees.

Our first water crossing. Although we've not had a lot of rain the creek was full and very pretty!

We came up on a rabbit.  He didn't seem the least bit concerned with us. I can't believe I got this picture of him!

We saw two rabbits, 2 hawks, 2 deer and one armadillo.

Diamond was being a real slow poke! He usually likes to be in the lead. Hmmm....maybe he was pouting ๐Ÿ˜‰

Isn't the scenery beautiful?

Diamond was so pokey!

Good looking horse and good looking rider ๐Ÿ˜Š

Great ride!

I saw these flowers in several places in the park. Aren't they beautiful?

We had a great time.

Have a good one!

Great Niece 1st Birthday Celebration 5-28-2017

My great niece Scarlett Mae Stephens (Taylor's little girl) turned one year old on May 19th. Her sister was competing in gymnastics in San Antonio that weekend so the party was planned Sunday afternoon May 28th.

The party was held in Burleson. The party was supposed to start at three but you know how unpredictable babies can be!

Mom and I didn't arrive until nearly 3:45 but there were no worries as the birthday girl was sound asleep!

I don't know how long she was asleep before we arrived but the party was on hold until she woke up. I think she slept for at least another 30 minutes after we arrived!

I  took a few pictures of the cake and the decorations. I'm glad I did as by the time she got through opening presents Mom was ready to go so we didn't stay for cake.

Scarlett's mom (Whitney) makes and decorates cakes. She made all the goodies you see here including the cake. She does amazing work! She also made my niece Destiny's wedding cake.

Sleeping Beauty finally awakes and interacts with some of her guests.

Mom is holding another baby and Scarlett was having none of it!

Little cutie!

Opening gifts.

Dad helping out toward the end.

She is a little cutie!

Graduation

It's that time of year. The end of school and graduations. I have received 4 announcements for graduation this year. Three were for high school and one for college. Two of the high school students are twins, Ali and Alex. I don't really know the girls that well but have know their parents since before they got married!

I made this card in the schools colors which are Red and black. The image is from the stamp set "Graduation Wishes". I stamped the image and then paper pieced on top of the image. I made the tassel using twine. This card is for Ali.

This card I made for Alex who has a more causal look I used the school colors for this one too. This stamp is Aleah Girl from the AngieGirl collection by artist Angie Blom. I colored her with pencils.

This card is for another high school graduate from our Christian School. The school colors are purple and white. I paper pieced this girl

This card is for the college graduate who graduated from Texas Tech Saturday May 20th. I paper pieced this girl.

I think I'm done with graduation. Now on to birthdays in June and Father's day!

Have a good one!

Vellum & Washi Cards

I have been watching some more videos. They are so inspirational and help me have variety in my creativity. This video is called "Vellum + Washi Cards by Angela Magnuson on May 4th. You can find that video here. This stamp set is Unity called Beatrix Girl from the AngieGirl collection by artist Angie Blom. I heat embossed with black powder the girl and sentiment.

Another video I watched for this inspiration was on May 9th called "Triple Stamping by Angela Magnuson" The stamp I used was a little too big for an A2 size card. I didn't want to make a larger card so my solution was to use foam tape and pop up the black boots.

The boots are from Unity called "Brave Boots". The sentiment is from the stamp set "Sassy Boots with a Melody". I made a banner with the sentiment and used foam tape to give it dimension. I used washi tape in the place of ribbon.

I made this card for Destiny's wedding. I mixed two stamp sets. The words in the form of a tier cake are from Stampin Up. The "Mr. & Mrs." is from Unity's September Kit of the Month 2009. I heat embossed using white powder. I used a Stampin up punch on the corners.

I really like how this card turned it. I used Unity stamp set "Another Name for Love". I used Distress Ink Salty Ocean, Mustard See, Preserves, Picked Rasberry, Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers. I stamped three butterflies and cut them out. I then inked the edge of the card with Picked Rasberries.

Hope I inspired you to create something๐Ÿ˜‰.

Favorite Color Combo {Anything Goes} Card Challenge

The challenge over at Cards in Envy this time is an easy one. Anything goes! I love these.

I made a birthday card for a friend who is a cowboy. I pulled out my western stamps and paper. The the image is an Impression Obscession called Cowboy Silhouette by artist DK Designs. The sentiment is from the same company and artist called "Ride Hard". On the inside of the card I stamped "Have a dazzling day. Happy birthday.

The papers I used were left-overs from some page layouts using an old Carta Bella western collection called "Giddy Up".

I stamped using Distress Ink Gathered Twigs. The accent paper behind the cowboy is the backside of the blue paisley paper. I really like how this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! I hope I inspired you to create something ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have a good one!

City Councilman 5-16-2017

Doyle (along with three others) were sworn in to the City Council at the last City Council meeting, Tuesday May 16th. All but one were new council members.

He had to go early as the City's photographer was there to take their picture.

After being sworn in the council takes their place and the meeting begins.

He is excited to be serving his city again๐Ÿ˜Š

Rodeo 3rd Performance 5-13-2017

Kashton and Kennedy spent the night on Friday. I took them with me to Treasure Hunt that we have once a month. (Going out in the community to pray for people). We stopped to feed horses on the way.

Who scoops poop in her fine attire? This girl! She insisted on scooping poop!

Korin is wearing Kennedy's shirt when she was that age.

Here is Kennedy at age 2. This was May 14, 2011.

Korin clapping because everyone else is.

One moment she is sitting in Daddy's lap making faces

and then she was out!

Kashton didn't want to go to the rodeo. We're not sure what was up with that. He stayed with Grammer and had a big time.

Have a good one!

Rodeo 2nd Performance 5-12-2017

Keannon and Vanessa went to her brother's graduation from fire academy on Friday night but we took Kennedy and Kashton. I just love this picture of Doyle and Kashton walking to our box seats.

Kennedy sporting her Mom's hat and belt. The belt is way too big but we figured out a way for her to wear it.
These girls are Megan Gay (on the left) and Summer Gay (on the right). They are sisters and family of the Rafter G who provide the stock for the rodeo. Summer is who we bought Fancy from.
Kashton was pretty happy to get nachos. He ate all the chips and licked the cheese clean out of the tray!
Kennedy liked her nachos too! It was a fun evening and some great rodeo.
Have a good one!
