Favorite Color Combo {Anything Goes} Card Challenge

The challenge over at Cards in Envy this time is an easy one. Anything goes! I love these.

I made a birthday card for a friend who is a cowboy. I pulled out my western stamps and paper. The the image is an Impression Obscession called Cowboy Silhouette by artist DK Designs. The sentiment is from the same company and artist called "Ride Hard". On the inside of the card I stamped "Have a dazzling day. Happy birthday.

The papers I used were left-overs from some page layouts using an old Carta Bella western collection called "Giddy Up".

I stamped using Distress Ink Gathered Twigs. The accent paper behind the cowboy is the backside of the blue paisley paper. I really like how this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! I hope I inspired you to create something πŸ˜‰

Have a good one!

City Councilman 5-16-2017

Doyle (along with three others) were sworn in to the City Council at the last City Council meeting, Tuesday May 16th. All but one were new council members.

He had to go early as the City's photographer was there to take their picture.

After being sworn in the council takes their place and the meeting begins.

He is excited to be serving his city again😊

Have a good one!

Rodeo 3rd Performance 5-13-2017

Kashton and Kennedy spent the night on Friday. I took them with me to Treasure Hunt that we have once a month. (Going out in the community to pray for people). We stopped to feed horses on the way.

Who scoops poop in her fine attire? This girl! She insisted on scooping poop!

Korin is wearing Kennedy's shirt when she was that age.

Here is Kennedy at age 2. This was May 14, 2011.

Korin clapping because everyone else is.

One moment she is sitting in Daddy's lap making faces

and then she was out!

Kashton didn't want to go to the rodeo. We're not sure what was up with that. He stayed with Grammer and had a big time.

Have a good one!

Rodeo 2nd Performance 5-12-2017

Keannon and Vanessa went to her brother's graduation from fire academy on Friday night but we took Kennedy and Kashton. I just love this picture of Doyle and Kashton walking to our box seats.

Kennedy sporting her Mom's hat and belt. The belt is way too big but we figured out a way for her to wear it.
These girls are Megan Gay (on the left) and Summer Gay (on the right). They are sisters and family of the Rafter G who provide the stock for the rodeo. Summer is who we bought Fancy from.
Kashton was pretty happy to get nachos. He ate all the chips and licked the cheese clean out of the tray!
Kennedy liked her nachos too! It was a fun evening and some great rodeo.
Have a good one!

Rodeo Parade and 1st Performance 5-11-2017

It's rodeo week here. For the first time in many years I, we, didn't participate with the horses.😲
{Gasp}

Kennedy went with friends to Six Flags and wasn't going to be back for the parade so I really didn't have much motivation to do it without her. If I didn't do the parade I couldn't see going to the trouble to take the horses to the rodeo to ride for all of 15 minutes. Just too much work. {Geez, I think I'm getting old - ugh}.

We sat in front of the fire station downtown to watch the parade. These two were beside themselves even if Korin isn't showing it.😏

Had a judge park right by our box with his scored pad hung over the fence.

Both kids ended up in Keannon's lap for a bit.

I can not get this girl to smile!

First night was good! Two more to come!

Have a good one!

End of School Program May 11, 2017

Thursday May 11th was Mother's Day Out end of school program. Kashton and Korin were both in the program. It was called Down on the Farm.

Here Korin is riding her horse.

Korin was getting into this one! The song said something about turning upside down!

Vanessa videoed with my phone while I took pictures. She may have gotten video of Korin on her phone. Her battery was low so she asked to use mine. You'll hear the shutter throughout the video.

Go here for another video of Kashton in another song. He was in four different ones. Go here for number 3 and here for number 4.

Doing motions to a song.

The song was about a donkey.

It was cute and fun to watch them. They both did a great job! Now school is out for them until the fall.

Have a good one!

Funnel Web Spider

I am not a big fan of spiders but I do find them interesting. I prefer to observe them outside and from a distance.

This guy, I learned from a friend who is a teacher that this is a Funnel Web spider. Their webs look more like blankets than your typical spider web.

These two pictures were taken May 8th.

He/she is at the entrance of their web which looks like a "funnel" hence where they get their name.

This picture and the following were taken on May 10th.

The spider web has captured food!

The spider comes out of the hole to retrieve breakfast (it's morning πŸ˜‰ )

Carrying "breakfast" inside.

Last glimpse before he gets out of sight.

English Sparrows 5-8-2017

Not all of the bird babies were at the barn this year. I had some right under my nose!

You might have to click on the picture to see the babies under the eave of the house.

Look close as you look at the photos and you will notice that there are two different birds feeding the babies. I don't know much about birds so correct me if I'm wrong but it appears that a mom and dad are feeding the babies.

See one of the babies is getting brave enough to stick it's head out.

Different bird feeding the hungry munchkins!

While I was waiting for the parent birds to return with more food I caught a glimpse of a couple of
large birds fly high overhead. Typically they are vultures but I saw something that made me think were something different and I was right.

I'm not 100% sure but I think these are Mississippi Kite Hawks.

To give you an idea how high they were flying, these pictures were taken with my 300mm zoom fully extended!

It was still pretty cool to see!

Have a good one!
