Adventuring at the State Park

Friday, November 11, 2016 I decided to take my camera and go exploring at Lake Mineral Wells State Park. I do this from time to time but it had been awhile since I had done it. I went to the side of the park that has the rock climbing. I followed the marked trail until I got to the lake then (whispering) I went off trail!

I know I'm bad but sometimes I just want to explore.

It's a little hard to see but there is a Granddaddy Long legs on this rock.

I didn't see any wildlife but I saw lots of things that fascinated me! Like a spider web on this twig.

I know a woman who is always finding hearts in the most unusual places. For her it is a note from God expressing his love for her. When I find things that look like a heart, it makes me think of her. I see a heart shape in this cactus.

It amazes me how trees or plants can grow right through rock!

Pretty view overlooking the lake.

I thought this greenery growing along the rocks was very pretty.

A rock covered in moss was very intriguing to me!

This little yellow flower really stood out among all the variations of brown colors.

Beautiful view of the lake!

It was pretty rugged where I explored but oh so beautiful!

A natural bridge! This tree is still alive but growing sideways!

A interesting spider web. No one was home.

This picture was all about getting the detail of the thorns highlighted by the sun.

I liked how the vine was wrapped around this tree limb. I just now noticed that the leaf is a heart shape :)

Back on the designated trail a view of the lake.

I just kept seeing views I liked!

Climbing back to the top

As I was walking to my truck to leave I noticed the moon. It wasn't a full moon but close.

Overlooking Lake Mineral Wells from Penitentiary Hollow.

I had a great time. It was just what I needed!

Have a good one!
