Pre-Thanksgiving

November 18, 2016

Our old freezer died and Doyle found a good deal on another one. The box it came it was a perfect place for the kids to play! They insisted I join them!

November 19, 2016

Wayne and Kelley drove to Texas to spend the week of Thanksgiving. They  arrived on Sat Nov 19th. Dad & Barbara came down for a brief visit to see us We got together on Nov 20th. I'll share about that in another post.

This isn't a good picture but one of the few I managed to get.

Mom came over to visit too. Korin calls mother "mo mo".

Kashton wanted to help me cook. I had already made cornbread. Playing with the flour is his favorite thing to do so I gave him measuring spoons and cups to play in the flour.

After Kashton got down, Korin wanted her turn to sit on the counter.

Have a good one!

Riding at the State Park

I rode at the State Park November 17, 2016. I decided to do it at the last minute so I didn't ask if any of my friends wanted to join me.

I thought the clouds were pretty!

The sun was setting as I was making the last leg of the trail back to the trailer.

As I'm driving out of the park I find a place to snap a couple of pictures of the colorful sky.

A great ride, a great day!

Have a good one!

Interesting Things

November 16, 2016

What I like about this picture is a couple of things. One, I like the lighting. How the sun shining on it seems to make the halter and rope almost "glow". And two....it represents something I enjoy!

I saw this spider web when I got out of my truck at the horses. It wasn't until I got it on the computer that I noticed there is a heart shape in the middle of the web! How cool is that?!!

Then as I walk to the barn I see the moon.

Thanksgiving at Mother's Day Out

November 15th was Kashton and Korin's Thanksgiving lunch at their "school"  (Mother's Day Out). I managed to get away from the office long enough to join them.

Kashton proudly displaying the "hat" he made.

Korin eating a huge cookie!

Have a good one!

Super Moon

The "Super Moon" happened November 13, 2016. I wasn't sure if I would get to see it as I had church that night but the time change put that possibility in my favor!

On the way to feed before church I got to see it!

This was my first glimpse of it.

You can already tell it's brighter and it continues to get brighter the higher it rises.

In this picture the moon is already so bright that it's just a bright spot in this picture.

I learned that "super moons" occur once in every 14 months on average. This one was different in that it was closer to earth. The moon hadn't been this close to earth since 1948. The next time it will be this close will be in 2034.

I'm glad I got to be a part of it!

Have a good one!

Adventuring at the State Park

Friday, November 11, 2016 I decided to take my camera and go exploring at Lake Mineral Wells State Park. I do this from time to time but it had been awhile since I had done it. I went to the side of the park that has the rock climbing. I followed the marked trail until I got to the lake then (whispering) I went off trail!

I know I'm bad but sometimes I just want to explore.

It's a little hard to see but there is a Granddaddy Long legs on this rock.

I didn't see any wildlife but I saw lots of things that fascinated me! Like a spider web on this twig.

I know a woman who is always finding hearts in the most unusual places. For her it is a note from God expressing his love for her. When I find things that look like a heart, it makes me think of her. I see a heart shape in this cactus.

It amazes me how trees or plants can grow right through rock!

Pretty view overlooking the lake.

I thought this greenery growing along the rocks was very pretty.

A rock covered in moss was very intriguing to me!

This little yellow flower really stood out among all the variations of brown colors.

Beautiful view of the lake!

It was pretty rugged where I explored but oh so beautiful!

A natural bridge! This tree is still alive but growing sideways!

A interesting spider web. No one was home.

This picture was all about getting the detail of the thorns highlighted by the sun.

I liked how the vine was wrapped around this tree limb. I just now noticed that the leaf is a heart shape :)

Back on the designated trail a view of the lake.

I just kept seeing views I liked!

Climbing back to the top

As I was walking to my truck to leave I noticed the moon. It wasn't a full moon but close.

Overlooking Lake Mineral Wells from Penitentiary Hollow.

I had a great time. It was just what I needed!

Have a good one!
