Purple & Green Card Challenge

It has been too long since I have entered a Cards in Envy Challenge. Don't know exactly what
happened but time got away from me.

The challenge is to make a card using the colors purple and green. I had already made Remi's Halloween card and put it in the mail. (I'll share that another time.) I started thinking about what left over papers I had that would have those colors in it then I remembered some Graphic 45 scraps I had left from covering Korin's letters for her room.

This is what I came up with. I was very pleased with how it turned out. The sentiment is actually an epoxy sticker so I didn't even break out the stamps.

Thanks for taking a look!

Have a good one!

Bike Riding with the Grandkids

Tuesday October 18th Kashton and Kennedy wanted me to ride bikes with them. I'm always game to ride bikes.

We got to the entrance of the cemetery and they wanted to climb on the rock wall. Of course I took some pictures!

It was a beautiful fall day and the sky was pretty with wispy clouds.

Once they were done climbing the rock wall we ride our bikes to the pond to see the ducks. Kennedy is way ahead of us.

Kennedy and Kashton wanted to walk to the side of the pond where all the rocks make a mound. It is there that there is a small waterfall made by recycling the water.

I got them to pose for me under the shelter by the pond.

Kennedy used to be small enough to walk under the beams without ducking her head!

We rode our bikes a short distance in the cemetery where there was another shelter to explore.

They thought about jumping but I discouraged it. It was a pretty big drop! While they were up there Kennedy spied a snake skin.

We checked it out. It was really LONG!

I couldn't tell how far it went down the hole.

Then it was back to posing for me and walking on the rock walls.

Quite the cutie!

Each of them wanted pictures by themselves!

I did not "pose" them. They did this on their own!

Walking the rock wall.

We had a good time!

There was a wall Kennedy jumped off that wasn't as high as the one I have a picture of them on. You can see that here.

Kashton thought about it but changed his mind. His video clip can be seen here.

Have a good one!

Korin's First Time to Feed Horses

Sunday October 16th, Vanessa was on her way home from Houston but wouldn't get back until around 10. The plan was for the person who was keeping Korin to drop her off with me until Vanessa got home.

Kennedy, Korin and the woman who was keeping Korin's son were in the backyard playing. It was a bit warm that day and they had been playing in water and gotten wet!

Kennedy wanted to do a funny picture but we both made angry looking faces! I don't know what was up with that!

Then it was time to feed.

Korin was not too thrilled with the horses. Here she is peaking out the door of the feed room Doyle built me.

She did come out but tentatively!

She did not like getting hay on her!

I did get her to pet each of the horses as long as I was holding her.

Now this picture needs explanation. There is not a gate close to the barn. I just step through the cabled fence. I had shown Korin how to do that and had her all the way through except her head. She thought she was stuck. I found it funny although as you can see she didn't! I did rescue her but not before I snapped a picture to show her Mom!

I don't think I ruined her from coming again but we'll see :)

Have a good one!

Day Full of Sports

October 15th, Vanessa went to Houston to a friend's wedding. Kennedy stayed with me and I took her to cheer that morning and then to her volleyball games in the afternoon.

The pink pompoms are in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In between cheers Kennedy kept practicing her handstands!

You can see a short clip of Kennedy being introduced by another cheerleader here.

After cheer we had just enough time to go home eat lunch and change for her to be at volleyball. She had two games back to back.

End of one of the matches.

Going after a ball.

They won one of three matches but lost the game.

They are getting better though!

Have a good one!

Beautiful Evening

October 14th was a pretty evening for a sunset and an almost full moon!

I wasn't confident of that at first as the cloud cover was thick but it made for some pretty clouds.

But the cloud cover was beginning to thin.

And the rays of light break through with a promise of the sun showing before it gets below the horizon.

It's trying....

and here it is!

Just like that...it was gone again.

But the show wasn't over! Look what I saw when I turned around! It wasn't a full moon but close!

It was beautiful!

Have a good one!
