It is Starting to Look Like Spring!

How did it get to be March already?! We have had the most mild winter I can remember in a very
long time! We had one blast of cold with a bit of snow in December and the rest of the time we've had very mild days. Some days have been on the verge of "hot" for this time of year. When your unit is set to "heat" instead of "cool" and you have an 80 degree day....it's too hot!

With the warmer temperatures the grass (and weeds) is growing. Doyle has already had to mow twice! And now things are starting to bloom! UGH! Easter, although early, isn't until the end of this month. I sure hope we don't get a cold blast that kills all these blooming things. These beautiful trees are next to the horses' pasture. There are trees like this all over town blooming.

I found my first Bluebonnet today (March 4th)! I can't believe they are out this early!

These are weeds but they sure have pretty blooms!

The yellow blooms are also a weed but they are pretty too!

I believe this is a "redbud" tree. The blooms are so pretty. You may have to click on the picture to see it but there is a butterfly or some winged insect in the middle of the picture.

There is a bee in this one.

Some of our trees are leafing out too!

I know spring will come I just hope this isn't a false alarm!

Have a good one!

  1. It's unreal the mild winter we've had. I keep waiting for the big cold one to come but looks like it won't be here this year. Supposed to be near 90 today. Yikes. The air conditioner WILL be turned on!!

    1. I was a bit bummed that we didn't have a little more winter. But I say it's not spring until after Easter!
