Catching Up Again

I realized that it has been a week since my last post but in all fairness (to me!) it was a VERY busy week! I had to cram 5 days into 3 at work and then in the evenings try to pack for a 4 day scrapbook retreat! (I blog about that in a different post.) That didn't leave ANY extra time for blogging!

We have been truly enjoying having the kids and grands in our backyard. Vanessa and I are trying to share cooking duties and Keannon has been very helpful to Doyle with yard work and household repairs.

On Saturday August 22nd I got this picture of Kashton helping his Daddy put together a watertable. We had given him one for his birthday but the other dog they had chew it to pieces so they bought another one.

Kashton wants to do everything with his Daddy!

I kept all 3 of the kids that evening so Keannon and Vanessa could go to a friends birthday party. We had so much fun!

They wanted to build tents! The pink that you see a Princess tent I bought for the girls last Christmas but they wanted more. They are laying on a dog bed!

On Tuesday August 25th we had a little storm blow up just North of us. Although short it was very intense when it hit with winds up to 50 mph, lots of lightning and thunder and a little over an inch of much needed rain! My weather station said it was "raining cats and dogs"!

Click here to see a short video clip of the storm. The winds weren't as intense when I shot this. (I apologize for you having to go to youtube to see the videos. I'm having difficult getting them to post to blogger.)

I know the surroundings are anything but pretty but I loved catching the sky reflected in the standing water left from the rain. I had forgotten to unlock the dumpster for trash day and went by to do that. This is the street behind the church.

Pretty skies when I went to feed too!

It had been extremely hot and steamy right before the storm rolled through. When I went to feed horses they were feeling frisky with the cooled air! Click here to view that entertainment!

Kashton (2 1/2) loves his sister. Korin (11 mos) is almost as big as he! is!

Have a good one!

  1. I know what you mean about enjoying having your kids living by you. I enjoy having Brandon and Brandy here at our house and not just because they help with yard work and cooking, though that is nice! What a surprise storm. We got nothing that day.I have just spent over an hour pre-scheduling blog posts so mine would be empty while Eddie and I are gone to Matagorday. I've already missed several days as I was busy packing too!
