More Cards for VCMP

I'm still playing catch up with Operation Write Home Virtual Card Making Party. I know I've missed some deadlines for some of the goodies being offered but it's not about me getting more stuff....(like I need more stuff) its about making cards for our heroes! I've been having fun. I'm still not through but have a few more I want to share. It's also WOW Wednesday over at Cat's blog. I almost missed that deadline too! It's nearly Thursday! Link your blog up, visit and comment on others and be eligible for some blog candy. BUT, you don't have to have a blog to participate. You can get all the details when you visit the blog. Now on to creations before I run out of Wednesday!

Challenge #4 Triple Time Stamping Technique. This was a challenge and a tutorial. This was so much fun I made two of these cards.

These are REALLY easy and make very elegant cards...don't you think?

Challenge #5 was to make a western card (cowboy or horse) card. (oops...I have neither...not sure this card qualifies!) Oh, well...its still a western card and its for a hero to send home to family.

This card could work for the next challenge which is to use sketch #136 as that's the sketch I used to make this card.

Challenge #6  Besides using the sketch we were challenged to use a shaped punch

Here is my card

I discovered I didn't really have many "shaped" punches. This was the best I could do.

Challenge #7 Christmas is for kids - Big or Small. This one was also fun.  We were challenged to make a Christmas card to give to a hero and one for a hero to send home to a child.

The paper for this card was left overs from Christmas scrapbook layouts. A mixture of Echo Park and My Mind's Eye. The stamp is from Obsession Impression as is the sentiment. I partially colored the image with copic markers and used Tim Holtz Distressed Stickles "Picket Fence" for the white part of the hat.

This is the card a made for a hero to send home to a child.

Once again I raided my paper scraps for this card. The red glitter paper is from Best Creations. It is THE BEST because it doesn't flake! Makes for beautiful accents on cards or pages. The image is another Obsession Impressions colored with my copic markers. The white part of the "Santa Hats" I used a product called Snow Marker made by Marvy Uchida. This stuff is fabulous for craft projects that you want to give dimension too! I need to get some more of this! The sentiment is a Technique Tuesday stamp and ribbon from my stash.

Well, tomorrow is my day at the store and it's "card night" for Operation Write Home. Have a good one!

  6. Hi Valerie,

What a great set of cards! And, you are so right about this being about cards for our heroes. Nonetheless, you haven't missed my blog candy deadline. Maybe you'll get more card-making stuff after all. :)

Love your triple time stamped cards. (Everyone who posted cards from that technique made the prettiest cards.) Of course, as you could tell from my challenge, I'm partial to holiday cards. I love the pairing of the kittie image and your sentiment on the first card -- and the pairing of the (safe) red glitter paper and sentiment on the second card.

Thanks so much for playing along with our Christmas is for Kids challenge! There are a few heroes who will certainly be glad that you did!
