Catch Up on Virtual Card Making Party

What a whirlwind of a weekend! I'm still trying to orientate myself to what day it is! Holidays always mess me up. It's Monday to my brain!

I noticed when I checked my email Saturday that Operation Write Home was having a Virtual Card Making Party. I so wanted to participate but I worked at the scrapbook store on Saturday and Sunday and part of Monday I had plans. I managed to do some blog hopping, checking to see if I could still participate if I did it later. Much to my happiness I could! So here's the Challenges and cards I've made so far.

Challenge #1 Create cards which include either a scripture verse or uplifting quote or sentiment.

I didn't use a sketch for this one but just created. It is pretty simple but I liked it. I felt this one is versatile enough to be used for man or woman.

I am also submitting this to Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown Masculine Challenge.

Challegne #2 A recipe challenge. 1 image, 2 patterned papers and 3 word sentiment.

I just love this stamp set from Technique Tuesday. The PP was double sided so it fit the "recipe".  The paper was left over from a mini album I made as a gift. I wanted to use a zebra image with zebra paper but couldn't find the scraps I had of that.

Challenge #3  Make a card with snowflakes but not Christmas. This one didn't turn out quite like I envisioned but I think its ok.

This one I worked a little harder on. Using my snowflake stamps I stamped and embossed with white powder on the navy cardstock for my background. I then used chunky white embossing enamel and silver crushed glass glitter from Stampendous to make the snow on the ground. Don't worry I heated the embossing enamel which sealed the glitter in when it melted. But to make sure its Operation Write Home friendly I think I'll make another one and use something different.

My image and sentiment are from Impression Obsession. I colored with my copic markers. The snowman and snowball I used Tim Holtz Distressed Stickles Rocky Candy. I let the stickles dry over night then cut him out and popped him with foam tape to give dimension.

This is all I have done now. There is a total of 10 challenges. Once I post this I'm going back to the craft room to do a few more before I call it a day. Have a good one!
