What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #158

Ok, I just have to know how is one supposed to get everyone visited in a week's time?! I tried really hard to visit everyone! I didn't want to leave anyone out but there's just not enough time in the day over many days! All of you have such wonderful workdesks (play spaces as I like to call them and some of you agreed with me!) Your creativity, crafting and artistic ability is just amazing to me...making me wonder "what the heck am I doing here?!" I delight reading about your lives, the weather and some of you have a wonderful sense of humor, making me laugh out loud! I guess I should get on to the reason for this post as I have learned reading your blogs that we are to keep things short. I just wanted to express to any of you who might visit my little "neck of the woods" that I am in awe of you and feel privileged to be in your company and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful comments. Ok with no more delay....here's my place space (I mean workdesk).

This is a little different view than you have gotten before. I actually have a crafting room. I was blessed with this opportunity when our daughter moved out on her on 3 yrs ago. My workdesk is a metal 6ft table that my husband got for me. He built the L you see that my notepad and ATG gun rests on. The red snowflake shaped paper was the result of some attempts to make a shaped card that wasn't square or rectangular. It took several tries but I finally made something I was happy with using this snowflake diecut. It's actually sitting in the middle of my desk on my cutting mat. I will post a better pic of it another day. I have been working on several cards for some card challenges. The black and green tote with a Pro Glider adhesive gun is my travel caddy that I take all my basic tools to crops and classes at the store. I tend to leave all my items in it so its always ready to go. I love my crafting room but I also love the friendships I've developed through crops and classes at the store so I try to keep myself mobile.

Ok before I get too windy....hop on over to Julia's Stamping Ground where you will find MANY crafters, artists, quilters, painters, etc. Go ahead take a trip around the world right from your computer.

Have a good one!

  2. Now that is how a desk should look: crafty, arty, inspirational and just plain fun. And don't worry about the visiting; we all do what we can and accept that others do the same. Some weeks I'm lucky if I can respond to everyone who leaves a comment, even when there are only 3 comments!

    Have fun,
    cheers, rachel #19

  3. You certainly have lots of great crafty things on your desk. Love the snowflake. I can never get around to everyone, I have to allocate times and visit as many as I can in those times. We all understand that it isn't always possible to visit everyone.
    Have a great week.

  5. Love the snowflake cut out. It's so good to have a dedicated room in which to craft - I'm fortunate enough to have that too. Thanks for the opportunity of having a peep at your workspace - trying to make a few visits early this week! Hazel, WOYWW #87 x

  6. I visit who I can, and don't stress about the ones I don't get to, I can only do my best in the time I have to get round to all the desks and we seem to be growing in number each week...

Love your busy desk and lucky you to get a room to yourself. I have one too and know how wonderful it is to be able to leave a mess if you need to...

  8. Thanks for your kind comments on my post. You have a great workspace. I have a craft room too, nice and big, but now it's packed with stuff and I work at the dining room table. That's bad, but now I am summer break, so hopefully I can move back upstairs. Barb

  9. I don't stress about the visiting either, I try and visit everyone who comes to see me, and I have a few I always like to look at and then a few just randomly picked. I feel sorry for Julia trying to get to everyone each week! I'm assuming you live in the South somewhere if you are used to hot temps, I don't think I could get used to triple digits all summer! I wish I could have taken the goose home with me as a pet but I think he might get a bit messy!!

    Hugs

  10. Hey Valerie! Now that's a busy desk this week!! Ha, ha. I'm attempting a shaped card too. There's no way you can visit everyone on WOYWW!! At least I've never been able to. I try to visit the ones that visit me plus 3 or 4 before and after me in the linky list. Love all that's going on at your workdesk!

  12. Great workspace. You're right, not enough time to visit everyone, I'm making a special effort to try and get round everyone today because its my birthday, the sun is shining and I'm sat in the back garden doing nothing all day!

  13. I agree! I love the friendships I have developed through on-line scrapbooking. And now I am adding WOYWW to the list! :)

It is hard to visit everyone. And since I am so new, I usually go back to the previous Wednesday and visit everyone I had comments from that day. Then go through the list and find any other names I recognize. Then I saw the a great tip from someone who visits everyone that has the same last number as her. So for me this week, it would be all the three's :)

  15. It looks like there's lots of crafty fun happening on your desk!! I love the snowflake card! What an awesome idea!

Yay for finding the badge!! It's on top of my Gypsy. The Gypsy is a hand held machine that works with the Cricut die cutting machine. I use it ALL the time!!

  17. Hi Valerie! Oh I find WOYWWers are a forgiving lot! I love the community Julia started and I've been posting for about 3 years now! Just missed one (when i was in the boondocks!) Sometimes I start visiting from the bottom number! patsy

  18. Lovely post, Valerie. You're so sweet! It is a wonderful community and I, too, find I'm spending hours and hours reading all the other wonderful blogs out there and not doing as much crafting as I'd like in my Playhouse. I guess eventually you just have to find a balance that works for you. I, too, return visits and then start first with the numbers whose last digit matches mine and then it's hit or miss after that. Have a great week! Darnell #45

  19. Your desk looks busy and very creative Valerie,
You look like you're having fun.
I too stress about not visiting everyone...but I make sure I visit everyone who visits me and then as many as I can during the week...whenever the time allows.
I think the numbers are growing each week so it's not possible some weeks.
Have fun and thanks for visiting my space. Neesie #26

  20. Great looking desk that looks both busy and creative. I have been reading about these DH building desks etc on several blogs today and I am envious cause mine doesn't do much building of anything but has other redeeming qualities. Thanks for the comment on my blog post and yes it is a Stampin Up storage box. I bought some of all three sizes to hold my dies. Have a great week. Vickie #23

  26. Super space you have there, I've a room too but it's not as functional as yours with the lovely L shape. Mines a mix of different desks and units! Take care, am snooping still on Sunday, late but determined to get round more than I have for a few weeks! Zo xx 73
